Car broken into Hi my car was broken into last night but i'm still wondering how it was done. No windows were broken. Is it possible to force a window to roll down? I noticed my window visor was ripped off and maybe forced the window down to open the door? I'm trying to remember if the window was opened when i checked on my car but really because i was pretty shaken i forgot. Thanks in advance. |
power windows? my sister locked her keys in her car one time and she was able to recover them by forcefully pulling down her window since she left a bit of an open. they were manual windows though |
make? model? year? a little info would be great |
My foreman left his keys in an e series service van once and we has to fish a piece of wire down the window and hook it around the door release. Posted via RS Mobile |
02 civic power windows/doors. Was the window open for your foreman? Posted via RS Mobile |
Could be many different ways of getting in Slim Jim is probably the most common way. It's basically a slim piece of metal with a hook on it. Commonly used by tow truck drivers to tow cars. Petty thieves can often make them outta of coat hangers etc. Other option is to bend the windows and use a hanger to unlock the door. If someone has some sort of master key set they might luck out also. Better thieves tend to just go straight for the door lock which often turns off certain factory alarms. Here's a FAQ I wrote years ago http://www.revscene.net/forums/forum...ead630424.html |
They probably bent the window back. Its a super common way to get into these cars. |
get a compustar installed by revs sponser, along with backup siren (and batt- built in) as mentioned they would just unlock the door, open the hood, and disengage the batt so the factory alarm dies, if u have a backup alarm/siren , they would normally need a key to stop it, backup siren usually kicks in once it losses current from the batt. |
