every apple reseller store in china looks like the official Apple Store to begin with. and every mall in china have at least 2-3 stores that sells Apple stuff and looks the same.

and they all sell genuine Apple products for over MSRP. So I don't see whats so special about an Apple reseller making them self looks like the Apple Store:failed:

StylinRed 07-20-2011 07:33 PM

i knew your reasoning would be retarded as always

both articles are named Fake Apple Stores

all 3 stores brand themselves as the Apple Store

you're reasoning is "well we sell apple products so of course" sounds like when a chinese store here gets caught selling fakes and they're like "i dunnnnnnnnnoooooo"

optiblue 07-21-2011 07:09 AM

Are the products real though? I can't believe that there are fake DS lite, fake games, and even fake rom cards nowadays that work pretty much like the real thing. won't be long before they can copy just about anything.

But I dunno real = made in china, fake = made in china. There is no spoon. :(

Nothing special, right? :p

To be honest, they are probably selling real apple products even though the store is a fake. Hyde is semi correct, most of the apple reseller stores in Asia do look quite similiar to the official store, its just that this one even copied the name. If it wasn't for the name, most people wouldn't care.

Regardless, Steve Jobs must be laughing. In the end, it just means more sales for Apple fake or not!

Just heard about this on radio this morning. They were saying that there are no authorized resellers in that city. Even the employees don't know that it's a fake store. Lol.

The only way Apple is going to get involved is if they sell something in that store that is against Apple policy. Every Apple store sells almost exactly the same thing. If this place deviates with all the fake or pirated garbage that's everywhere in China, then I'd imagine Apple would have to step in.

The ONLY person that doesn't know about Hyde's "reputation" is Hyde himself. :p

How many people are employed in China making Apple products? I'm not surprised they'd get involved.

StylinRed 07-25-2011 12:35 AM

they just took it another step further with closing some stores down

Officials close fake Apple stores in Kunming city, China

China has moved to shut down several fake Apple stores found in Kunming city.

Three of the elaborate fake stores, which mimicked the look of the real thing, came to the world's attention after being exposed on a blog.

Following the publicity, trade officials investigated and found five stores in Kunming posing as official Apple retail outlets.

Two of the five have now been closed as their owners lacked a business licence.

The BirdAbroad blog, written by an American woman living in Kunming, wrote about a visit to one fake Apple store which superficially resembled the official outlets.

In the article, the blogger wrote about conversations with staff, many of whom were convinced they worked for the US electronics firm.

Chinese officials investigated the shop visited by BirdAbroad but it was not one of those closed down. It has a licence to trade and is selling genuine Apple products.

Apple has said it has no comment to make on the discovery of the counterfeit shops.

...

A further check revealed that none of the three stores she found are mentioned on Apple's list of official resellers known to be trading in Kunming.

What was also unclear was where the fake store had got the Apple products on sale - whether they had come from an Apple distributor or a grey market source.

The blog entry mentioning the visit to the fake store has proved hugely popular and has gathered more than 500,000 visits in less than 48 hours.

that just makes it even more epic. Make a fake store selling forgeries, but forget to forge a business license.
