anyone been to TECHNIQUEAUTOSALES on kingsway and main?

TECHNIQUEAUTOSALES next to kingsgate mall.

has chinese letters on flags but turned out everyone was russian.

was looking to go a sl600 and plop down serious cash today but bailed as he was sketchy as hell.

person was not willing to let my tech check it out and wanted to bring it to benz for a service check. (benz dont do outside checks company policy)

also the carproof only went to 2008 and nothing after. guy said owner drove it after they bought it in 2008 and recently put it up on the market.

anyways anyone had any experience with this place? cant find any reviews on google

Kingsway dealers = Bad..

Solo_D33A 07-20-2011 04:50 PM

What year? for 600s, well, prepare for high maintenance and repair bills.

Redlines_Daily 07-20-2011 06:02 PM

Ive never bought a car from them, but I have been to the lot several times. I never have a good feeling when dealing with these guys..they come off as kinda sketchy (like most kingsway lots) and mob connected or something. Note that this is just my feelings, they could be reputable for all I know..just do your due diligence and be careful.

that was my first impression. shady russians.

anyone with more info would be nice.

plan on getting a 04 sl600. auto mechanic myself so i will be doing most the servicings

I attempted to buy an SL500 from them a while back and I still can't believe how rude the person on the lot was to me. I walked on and had asked questions about the car, and they told me they'd discuss more details about it when I came cash in hand. I ended up buying a car from somewhere else in the end.

The SL600 I've seen around and I know where the previous owner lived and I can vouch of how well this car was taken care of, it was ALWAYS polished and tidy. Interior was always clean whenever I walked past it. I believe he was looking to replace it with a Gallardo from what I remember hearing.

Be wary of the shop regardless, not mob connected but if your ready for the expensive repairs and love the car, I suggest you get it:fullofwin:

ill be going back soon if i cant find any other sl600 or 55 for around the price range soon.

returning a cls550 lease so this should be a bit more exciting and fun.

oh btw when i looked at the car it was not in the best condition. dirty interior black stains and the exterior has seen better days. could be from the dealer using it.

did you know how much he sold it for to the dealer?

rriggi 07-21-2011 12:56 AM

Personal taste would be to go with the SL55, but I have tad BIAS towards it :D
Only annoying thing is spark plug changes, has 16 spark plugs, more than the 600 ironically.

The 55 Kompressor was one of the best motors ever to roll out of AMG, and the sound is worth the money alone. Theres a muffler shop in Burnaby, Quiet Muffler, 7112 Kingsway. Next door, someone at a dealer is selling a nice silver SL55 with a Renntech airbox and muffler.

The SL600 when I peeked into it was SO clean, no stains and the car had a deep black finish like a expensive piano. The interior looked NEW and the seat bolsters which usually wear on these cars didnt really have even a scratch on them. Positive its the same car now, the space was empty tonight.

I dont doubt the dealer is using the car, the second time I went after the SL500 I wanted to buy, I was told the car was not there and was getting serviced. Later that very afternoon, saw the very same SL being driven by the man who rudely spoke to me the day before on Robson with the top down and demo plates. That was safe to say the end of my shopping at Technique..

Best of luck, you'll love the car no doubt! If I see him, ill ask how much he let it go for, never talked to the guy though.

Never. And I repeat, never ever ever buy a car from a dealer that refuses to let you take it to a mechanic of YOUR CHOICE to get it inspected.

.

iirc, the sl600 is a v12 bit turbo....

24 sparkplugs.:)

van_driver 07-21-2011 07:57 AM

checked out an integra there 2 years ago, very sketchy

took it out on a test drive, turned out the car didn't have power steering
and the salesman never told me about

came very close to buying the car but didn't... I'd keep looking around
or use LOTS of caution before pulling the trigger, good luck

Family bought an Acura rdx there few year ago. Only thing was there was only one key and no warranty because it wad an American car. Car runs fine only and no major problems with the car so far. Only a couple tech glitches but that is pretty common with new cars with lots of gadgets.

^
what tech glitches?

vash13 07-21-2011 09:30 AM

passenger side heated seat not functioning and speakers have intermittent static noises. For the price we bought it was still worth the deal. Was not able to find a RDX with that competitive price anywhere else.

NEVER ever buy any car from any small kingsway dealers...friend bought one, did not tell him it was a rebuilt until they got the car...

GLOW 07-22-2011 06:05 AM

did a search on them on the Better Business Bureau's website. they are not registered with them and have 2 complaints against them they did not respond to. they have a rating of "F"

they rate "A+" to "F"

Technique Auto Sales Corporation Business Review in Vancouver, BC - Mainland British Columbia BBB

this is the first time i've ever seen a business on BBB get an F, and this is running searches on some pretty well known shady kingsway type stealerships

sounds like their "technique" at selling cars is to scame people :troll:

just sayin'
