Suggestion of where to take laptop for repair My laptop key board recently stop working was quoted around 300 to fix what ever it is, wondering if anyone can recommend a shop rather then best buy? |
Do you still have manufacturer warranty? The only place I'd sent my laptop to if it ever had issues such as yours *knock on wood* I'd contact the manufacturer directly. |
If you spilt a drink on the keyboard, a keyboard replacement is rather easy to do. I would buy a new keyboard on eBay and replace it myself. It is unlikely you will find a replacement keyboard in Vancouver. |
Might be a damaged ribbon on the keyboard. Just grab replacement off eBay. Posted via RS Mobile |
Buy a replacement keyboard off the internet and replace it yourself.....unless it's a Mac. I cracked my LCD panel and I replaced it myself...definitely helps if you have a guide to taking apart the laptop though |
which brand? |
ncix does laptop repair never used them though but im thinking about taking my laptop in to replace my DC-IN i always see line-ups at the repair booth so im assuming they dont do a bad job since so many nerds use em |

They thoroughly fixed my comp when it went apeshit. However, depending on what OP requires fixing, ebaying a keyboard is a FAR cheaper alternative than bringing it in. If that is the issue, you'll be saving yourself 10 times the cost as most keyboard are around $30 on ebay. |
yea a kb swap is very DIY thanks for the info about ncix :D (bought the replacement part for my dc-in but i can't get my original out even though i took the laptop a part so was thinking about bringing it to ncix) |
London Drugs also does a decent job and fairly competitive with NCIX pricing. EDIT: At least for the Kerrisdale location. |
I saw a laptop place on the corner of kingsway and edmonds. Its across from king ed pets store. I read the sign "99$ laptops, and we do repair on site". Maybe give them a call and check their rates? I never went in before, I only saw them everytime I go buy fish food or dog food |
