putting LED bulbs in headlights? A friend of mine put a pair in WRX foglights. It's nice and bright, the box says it's for foglights only. Do people put them in headlights as well? http://www.manufacturer.com/cimages/...ight_Bulbs.jpg |
i doubt you can see very far with these led bulbs? functionality > look/ design especially when it comes to headlights? |
I put these once as foglights (in a clear reflector housing) and you can clearly see the individual dots and IMO doesn't look good. I then threw them in my factory projectors and it was too dark though :( They don't go as far as normal bulbs for the fogs either, the way the light comes out is not very good |
well the Lexus LS600h, RX450h and Prius have LED headlight... http://125.29.33.203/G-Blog/UserData...bebbe6f381.JPG http://file.cyberbizkiz.blog.shinobi...dheadlight.jpg |
^ lol... |
I've seen people use them as their DRL. Not their low beam light though. |
Doesnt look the greatst, Like tofu said. Light output is bad, more for looks or DRL. I have them in as my parking lights but those are never on, only at night. |
LED's won't work by putting them into an existing headlight housing - they're just not bright enough and they don't have the right pattern. Factory vehicles with LED headlights have their housings and lenses SPECIFICALLY designed around the LED. Posted via RS Mobile |
I put led's in my front parking lights. Light output is too low to offer any functionality, but they look better than the old yellow ones that came stock. |

if you want a pic of how it looks here it is...it is not bright at all and just looks like a lightbulb with holes in it..i just took it out right away, doesnt look good at all http://img837.imageshack.us/img837/8...1107191936.jpg |
^ thanks, I guess it would never work. not sure why my buddy's car looks so ok with LED fog. |
they'll be BRIGHT but it wont be INTENSE. it'll look bright to the eyes but the light's not intense enough to light anything, you're fogs will pretty much just be for show and non functional. If you're ok with that then go for it. |
