Mazdaspeed6 2nd Gear Synchro Rebuild? Re&Re Cost?

So unfortunately, more and more frequently lately, the shifter will pop out of 2nd gear while idling down mainly, such as rolling into a red light in 2nd, and the odd time while ripping into 3rd.

I've picked up some of these Anchors but have yet to install them or have them installed. Not sure if they'd make a huge difference.

Anyways, as the title says, I'm essentially wondering what the re n re cost of that would be? Or can you even rebuild just one gear? I'm not that big of a gear head yet so I'm not sure of the finer things... if thats one lol.

Thanks people.

The anchors you picked up won't really do much for your transmission problems at all. They do improve shifter feel though. If you are interested in doing the transmission work, please send me a PM and I'll put together a quote for you. I can tell you that there is a lot of time involved in re and re of that transmission though.

I was afraid of that lol.

I'll most likely end up monitoring the problem (2nd gear), look into the clutch and maybe the other oem motor mounts. I've had the oem rear motor mount replaced with this and in actuality, it seems to have highlighted the need to replace the other mounts or the intermittent clutch issues. The MS6 clutch pedal has an "adjustable engagement" where I can add a 1/4" of play. Might try that to help the clutch feel but do realize that wont' effect the synchro. Unless it makes shifting that much cleaner.
