Which lense to use to portrait slender legs?

LENS

and to be honest those pictures look like they were stretched out in editing or something...
like the second picture with the girl and the red shoes - if you have legs like that you are going to die.

other than that. if you want to make legs look longer, your camera should be below waist level, looking UP. as per lenses... I'll let the other guys chime in

Those look like they're shot with a wide angle - they don't really look that stretched in post.

But it doesn't look like an ultra-wide - so probably just a regular 17mm (on a crop body) or like 24mm on a FF.

Portraits aren't usually done at that focal length because the distortion usually makes the face look weird - but if it's long legs you really want, then go for it.

Yeah, this I've gathered.

I have been speaking to my friends, and here are things I've been told:

1) 50mm is ideal for shooting facia and upper half body portraits
2) 85mm is ideal for shooting full body portraits
3) Sample photos I've posted here have distortion, possibly generated from software
4) Sample photos were taken with wide angle lenses

My question is, out of the following lenses, which one (s) should I get, in order to achieve the effect in the samples?

Wide-Angle:
AF DX Fisheye-NIKKOR 10.5mm f/2.8G ED
AF NIKKOR 14mm f/2.8D ED
AF Fisheye-NIKKOR 16mm f/2.8D
AF NIKKOR 20mm f/2.8D
AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED
AF NIKKOR 24mm f/2.8D
AF NIKKOR 28mm f/2.8D
AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4G
AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G
AF NIKKOR 35mm f/2D

Standard:
AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G
AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4D
AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D
AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G

I indeed need to achieve long legs, as the models will be shot from ground upwards, focusing on legs and rear assets. (nature of the job)

What do you think of AF NIKKOR 24mm f/2.8D?

What is FF? Fixed Focal? Sorry, my knowlege re: photography is very limited.

FF = Full frame

With the amount off distortion shown in most of those pics, I'd say its closer to a 17mm on a full frame, or about a 10-12mm on a crop body

Do you have any of the original files? you may be able to just look at the exif info on the shots and see for sure what was used

lol. i found this on Twitter : https://twitter.com/#!/beautylegs

what's in these huge downloads? doesn't look like porn.

i don't get why you know so little about photography though? it's your job? huh?

btw, they look like stills taken from HD video.

I'll research anyway, but for now, please briefly explain Full Frame & Crop Body?

I don't have the original files. If you Google Beautyleg, you'll find results aplenty. 1 of my client wishes to achieve this type of (slightly distored) effect for visually longer legs, hence this post.

Up until recently, I've been more into cars than photography (hence posting on RS here). I've always liked automotive photography, but never really spent the time / money / energy into this realm.

Lately I am required to be invovled in shooting contents with specific styles as per samples provided above.

I am not sure if these are stills taken from a HD video, considering the original photos are sized at 3000 x 2000.
