Brown rice I need some recommendations for brown rice. I've been eating brown rice from Costco, some Austrailian variety, that doesn't taste very good. I'm looking for something that tastes like Uncle Ben's brown rice but without the ridiculous price. The Costco brown rice costs like $7.99 for 11 lbs, compared to Uncle Bens, where it's like $9 for 1/4 of the size. |
cook it with chicken broth or something? should help the taste. |
That's what I already do with the Costco rice. Thing is, it just doesn't taste as good as Uncle Bens. |
cuz uncle ben uses MSG. instead of chicken soup, add those chicken essence (the ones you can buy in asian supermarket). Is basically MSG ... |
^ yeah i always toss in a soup cube thing and it changes the flavour |
grab a bag of basmati brown rice and boil away |
If it doesn't taste good, and is really expensive, why would you want to eat it? You don't think brown rice is more "healthy" do you? :seriously: |
I think you read it wrong. I said the Coscto rice is cheap, but doesn't taste good. Uncle Ben's is expensive, but tastes better. |
Don't waste your time with Rooster brand brown rice. Horrible. :Puke: |
If you're eating it b/c you're looking for a healthy alternative to white rice, have you considered eating quinoa? |

just eat the brown rice with actual food like vegetables and meat rice isn't supposed to taste like anything. it's supposed to go with food! |
