Long Term Tire Storage

Okay, this might seem like a daft question, but oh well... :lol

I have an en extra set of tires that will be stored long term (at least 2 years). Would it be better to keep them outside (but out of the elements) or inside? Or does it really even matter? I don't want the tires to dry out to the point where they become unusable.

inside it always better

after two years in the sun and rain the odds are the tires will start cracking.

room temp...somewhere dark
I wrap my hoosiers in black bags and store in heated crawl space.

Is there any particular reason why you want to keep these tires stored for so long?
Wouldn't it make more sense to sell them now and just buy new tires 2 years from now?
