Total is around 750 + tax. That's a nice system you have. You can do some little upgrade here and there when you have the extra money like getting better or more RAM, get a better heatsink, more fans for the ase.........

You haven't told us ~ What kinda game do you wanna run on this rig !?!?!?

For example, If you wanna run Crysis 2, the witcher 2, MW3, or BF3...etc.

Then, u need probably at 900~1000 bux to run them decently (Maybe at lowest setting.....).

or You just wanna run SC2, MW2, BF2 ...700 bux PC will be good enough.

Depends on the Game, the system requirement is totally Differentttttt......

You got my point ? :lol

I play Watcher 2 and high settings with no issue and my pc cost me maybe like $800lish

HP Pavilion AMD Athlon II 645 Quad-Core Desktop Computer (P7-1010) : Desktop Computers - Future Shop

Oh and I'm not wanting a custom built comp

I just looked at the link u posted......it has an integrated video card.... i guess it's okay if you wanna play the sims... :fuckthatshit:

TheSalesman 08-11-2011 01:29 PM

go to ncix, tell them your budget and what you want to do with it and they'll build you something better then what futureshop has for less money.

Or you can ask the RS gurus about building one...

Then go to pricebat.ca and other matching sites and get the best deal possible.

Either way, I would never buy a comp from FS/BB or any of the major sellers just because their set-ups are absolute garbage.

Show me, I want a computer just like yours for that price.

Antec 300
Corsair 430W PSU
Core i3 2100
ASUS H61 Motherboard
4GB DDR3
500GB HDD
Radeon 4870

Try multiplayer 4v4, even 3v3 with full units.
U probably cant even move.....

And I m pretty sure this system is ganna have hard time running new FPS games at High or ultra setting @ 1080P

are you just ignoring everything i write? i never said my system was gonna run everything. i just said it doesn't cost $700 to build a computer to play sc2. i have no interest in running new fps games. i don't care.

lol, even my E6700 oc'ed at 3.6ghz can play SC2 smoothly without max setting

But
what if the OP wants to play new FPS games ?

For real, there is no point posting here without what OP wants to play...

Dont you think !?

PhilosophyMajor 08-11-2011 05:06 PM

i dont think the OP even knows what he wants...

Phenom X4 955 > $120
mobo > $80
500GB HD > $40
4GB Ram > $40
GTX 460 > $120 (NCIX has it for $95 after MIR)
Generic case + PSU > $50
Total $450 or less
ideally, you can save even more going with a slightly cheaper CPU and mobo.

I have a similar spec system and I can run sc2 at 1080p ultra, play 4v4 and FPS rarely goes under 30
I can also play bfbc2 at max setting (except max AA/AS) at good framerate

Phozy 09-20-2011 04:28 PM

NCIX is the way to go. If you can find someone on RS or something who can build you one, even better. But generally the computers NCIX have are at a fair price. Don't bother going to Futureshop/bestbuy, they will only fail you, and take your money away

Vansterdam 09-20-2011 05:28 PM

hey guys what do you think of my build? budget is 1100 after taxes

the prices i listed is the cheapest i found when each part is on sale

still waiting for deal on mobo+cpu

might add this mobo for 105 Gigabyte Z68M-D2H mATX LGA1155 Z68 DDR3 2PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 HDMI DVI CrossFireX SATA3 Motherboard1 - 105$

975 before taxes

OR wait till i see the asus pro go on sale

NCIX Bundle Deal - Intel Core i7 2600K Quad Core Unlocked Processor & ASUS P8Z68-V Pro Motherboard $551.16
PriceMatch $469.99

i5 2500K + Asus z68vpro: $349.99

SkinnyPupp 09-20-2011 06:38 PM

Wouldn't bother with the 2600K, get a 2500K instead.

Assuming you won't be overclocking (based on the motherboard choice) so no need for a 3rd party cooler

See if that extra budget savings can get you a better video card (not that your choice is bad, but you should always put as much into the video card as possible)

trancehead 09-20-2011 08:01 PM

i;d stay away from the WD black. couple of reviews say its loud as hell. if you want speed, go SSD. 128gb is the sweet spot.
otherwise, go for a WD green

SkinnyPupp 09-20-2011 08:03 PM

^^^ Do not listen

Vansterdam 09-21-2011 01:24 AM

I wanted to OC to 4.1 or 4.5
Posted via RS Mobile

SkinnyPupp 09-21-2011 01:52 AM

For a moderate OC like that, you don't need a super high end board. I am currently testing the Gigabyte ga-z68ma-d2h-b3 and hitting 4.3 or so is as simple as hitting the "Turbo" button. But you will run into heat issues with the onboard components if you try to push the voltage to the CPU's limit to reach higher clock speeds. For the explanation as to why, wait for the review :)

At one point I had 4 WD Blacks in my PC. They are great drives with awesome warranty.
