HIRING: Dulux Paints Burnaby

Dulux Paints at 6679 MacPherson Avenue in Burnaby is looking for a PTmer ASAP. If you get hired, you're looking at anywhere from 24-40 hours a week. Well get more hours if you're willing to travel to different stores. No exp required. Will train. Must be able to lift up to 60lbs and have a pair of steel toe boots. Pay will range from $11-$12 an hour. DO NOT drop off resume in person, PM them to me and I'll forward it off to the district manager. Feel free to ask any questions. Thank you.

Good P/T job to have. I used to work there. Tough it out during the last couple of weeks of summer and it turns into nothing but endless fun during the Winter time.

Dave still there or did he retire yet?

Tint paint, write in orders, send out orders, deal with customers, clean, stock, etc.

It depends on how much you're taking at school. When I worked there I only had class 2-3 days a week so I would work 2 weekdays and on Saturdays. When I changed to going to school 5 days a week I only worked Saturdays.

Very few customers come into the store during the Winter which makes it really ideal for study time...

You do basically what JSilver mentioned. Everything is pretty simple as soon as you do it a couple times. I think learning about the different products is the hardest part since there's so many different grades, sheens, bases, sizes, etc. For the first month my co-workers I only did stock and tinted whatever my co-workers handed me. I didn't help customers for the longest time.

If you work at MacPherson, having Badminton skills will help pass the time faster if you're working with Blah_Teggie.

WTH happened to my thread!?!? And yes, thank you Nvasion, Mickz and JSilver for contributing to this thread. As for Dave, he's at 889 and retiring in Sept, as for Saturdays, if you apply Peter, we'll hire you:). As for school, it really depends on what your schedule is. During the summer time, we had a guy who mostly did 7am - 11am shifts and he went to school after. And Mickz, we're actually alot busier now than when you worked there so it's not as slack anymore.

Gonna talk to colleen on monday. Sick.

Blah_Teggie 08-31-2011 08:48 PM

Update: Spoke with district manager today and she says preference will be given to those with an open availability as this is mostly a Monday - Friday day job. No weekend or night shifts. And only apply if you are willing to travel to different stores if you want more hours. Any questions, just ask. Thank you.
