Cases for phones/electronics why do people buy cases and screen protectors that actually degrade the use of their product? I see people buy screen protectors that just collect finger oils, or cases that triple the size of their product? Can't understand it. The only reason I'd see it is to protect the retail value. |
Its your phone. Do what you want with it. Only reason why I have a case on my phone is to prevent further damages incase I drop it Posted via RS Mobile |
I saw someone today with an iphone cake case that increase the width by 3x. I make fun of people with the bunny cases but they say you can wrap the cord around the ears. |
i love those bamboo cases for Apple if its an aesthetic reason i can understand that if its for Protection im kind of like wtf? but then again a lot of phones smash into bits when they hit the ground (iphone) so it does make sense there's also battery addon cases i can understand that too if you're going to be traveling/taking photos/videos like so http://mynokiablog.com/wp-content/up...8/IMG_1131.jpg |
I have a silicone case on my phone since I let it sit on my dash. Without a case, it would slide around my dash. For my ipad, I have a 'folio case since I like to prop it up on the table, and keep the edges from getting dinged up if I have it in my bag. Sure it makes things clunkier... but it's convenience, too. |
You don't want scratches. Make phone look better. More grip / different feel. You don't want a shitty case, you want a good one that won't "degrade" it. Posted via RS Mobile |
i think people gets cases and screen protectors just to decrease damage if it dropped and the screen protector is for protect it from scratches |
I always wonder about those people with the HUGE 3d crystal cases.... http://cdn2.iofferphoto.com/img3/ite...case-6f7da.jpg http://cdn2.iofferphoto.com/img3/ite...case-6f7da.jpg |

If you're looking to unravel beyond that, that's like trying to understand why asian people like to wrap their remotes with saran wrap. You'll never figure it out. |
For my iPhone 4, initially I had a screen protector in the front, but it was really messing up the retina display. So I said, wtf, forget it. Went naked on the front. Never went back. Plus the glass is EXTREMELY durable. After almost a year of hard use, there are virtually zero scratches. Only if you examine with a bright sun reflection could you even detect anything. And actually, cases, UPGRADE the product, in the case of the iPhone 4.. no more antennagate :D |
I dropped my old Treo once off a 12' high scaffold to the concrete slab below... nicely protected by its case. Also dropped my work iPhone from a similar height... to concrete chunks and slag below. No case. It did not end well. /thread. |

I use skins to protect from scratches, to give my devices a unique look, and to add grip. I think bulky cases are dumb. I use a matte film on my phone, since it goes Ina nd out of my pocket all the time. I don't use one on the iPad though. |

Last year when I had the iphone 4, I ordered a free case from Apple and was waiting for it to come in. I babied the phone, held it with two hands, set it down very carefully, etc. Case was ~3 days from arriving and my gf drops my phone onto concrete :fulloffuck: |
