Audio Setup In my 2000 Civic Hatchy
 

Hi,

I'm an audio noob so I have no idea at what numbers on the equipment mean aside from frequency range.

I currently have a Sony Deck that says on the box that it is 4x52W

In front I have xplod speakers where the box said 280W

Rear I have the stock honda speakers + pioneer speakers connected in parallel (100 Watts)

100 watt pioneer speakers Sault Ste Marie, Sault Ste Marie (pioneer speakers).

I currently want to add VISONIK Davidactives rated at 30W connected in parallel to the front speakers. I don't have a problem with wiring, but I have no clue on power,amps or any of those.

If any of you could advise me, please do. If you need more info on the stuff, tell me and I'll try to find it

Here is some clarification for you:
The deck will have about 17-18 watts RMS (Root mean square) or sometimes incorrectly referred to as continuous power. That 52 watt rating is most likely your peak power. Also, your speakers will have an RMS rating of closer to 60-90 watts as opposed to the peak 280 which they suggest. That said, an amplifier with a minimum of 30 watts RMS should be fine to run these speakers. More power will be better though if you want less distortion while getting some decent volume out of the speakers.

If you are connecting multiple speakers in parallel you are effectively dropping the impedance which will affect your amplifier's performance and your THD (total harmonic distortion will go up). Distortion = they won't sound as good. The amplifier may not have the ability to perform at lower impedances either below 4 ohms in stereo. These are things that could be a potential problem.

Ohh thanks. I actually asked my father. Apparently electrician knowledge works with audio equipment physics.
