Trip to the Nurburgring

Yesterday I got back from my trip to Italy and Germany and also the Nurburgring. This was my 4th or 5th time at the track and this time I rented a race car to take on the track and even though it was just a Suzuki swift with a weight reduction and minor boltons, it was a blast to drive and I even managed to hit 200km/h on some sections (not the main straight)
first pic is of my rented car

This guy forced the closure of the track for over an hour (driver was ok)

nope, just a passport and driving liscence. I booked the car about 2 months in advance, I went to their office right next to the track, paid the fee (300 Euro for 1/2 day) and then just have fun.

it's 1 lap and then you must come in or cross the gate on the main straight, 24 euro per lap, as many as you want

depends on which company you go with, the one I went with (rent4ring) only has the suzuki swift and a opel corsa

HonestTea 09-05-2011 12:00 PM

Damn..wouldn't mind taking one of the Porsche's or the M3 around :)

Death2Theft 09-05-2011 07:08 PM

I thought they were closing the ring down because they couldn`t afford to keep it running

twitchyzero 09-05-2011 08:06 PM

yep this is definitely on the bucket list...tracking an euro sports car around the 'ring

even though it was on the news last year I doubt they'll close this down any time soon.
