Local Business Issues

Hi Guys,

I have a business research project coming up, and I need help coming up with a topic or a research question.
I am to design and undertake research that either addresses an issue facing an organization or range of organizations or analyses a decision to be made by an organization or range of organizations.
The research question should be forward-looking rather than descriptive and should require the student to make recommendations for further action.

Are there any good business issues, preferably something local and simple, that would be perfect for this project? The reason why I want something local is so that I can collect primary data, eg. interview the business owner or staff personally, collect surveys, etc. However, if there are better ideas to tackle that are not local, that is perfectly fine as well....

I have a few ideas but I was hoping to see if there were brighter ones.

THANKS IN ADVANCED.

One thing that I've heard my bosses complain about is the property taxes paid by businesses in residential neighborhoods are HUGE compared to residential houses next door, yet business get far fewer benefits such as parking permits, etc.

I think this would be a good topic for your project. This would fit in more with "analyse a decision to be made by an organization". If you have some technical knowledge, along with some research, you can easily weigh out the pro's and cons of their decision and come to an objective conclusion. Also surveying this would be super easy because everybody knows about it.

I Hope this helps, good luck!
