iOS IS GETTING FLASH! (somewhat) Quote:
So this doesn't mean that all iOS devices will be getting flash automatically, but instead the publisher will have to spend $4500 to get Flash Media Server 4.5 in order for its flash content to be played on iOS devices. What do you guys think? |
Does this need it's own thread? Posted via RS Mobile |
wow, do ppl still care about this? |
The Skyfire browser app that's been out for about a year already does something similiar to this. It looks for videos on a webpage and if you want to watch it, it loads it up on their server and streams it to your phone. Posted via RS Mobile |
The only flash I watch on my iPhone aside from YouTube is xvideos, and the site runs natively on Safari :lol |
HTML5 FTW. |
Meh. Wasn't a big deal to begin with. |

If this keeps up it won't matter what phone/tablet/computer you have. |
^ Won't change anything. The only companies trying to "skirt" the App Store are those who sell content (like books) and don't want to pay Apple the 30% cut if they have an in-App "Buy" button. To get around the "Buy" button they develop web pages that function & look like an App, with links to purchase content. Besides, you can't make a web app as good as a native iOS App. Oh sure, if you have a "simple" app maybe, but there are too many functions/features in iOS that can't be accessed or duplicated with a web app. |

To be honest, I rarely use my apps and often find the web browsing sufficient. I hope in the future, instead of launching Apps, we're just launching bookmarks instead to access certain application already on the web. |
