I think a lot of us actually do have the provider mindset because we grew up knowing this was the expectation and our major role in the relationship. What's killed it, is the increasingly absurd amount of entitlement coming from our opposites. If I were truly rich, I wouldn't mind 100-0 ratio if I and my future kids are being taken care of full-time by my partner. But if someone goes into that scenario and does absolutely nothing on their end, the agreement no longer works.
I'm sure most of us are in 75-25 ratio relationships and that's all we really need to be comfortable financially. Every relationship is give and take but modern feminism wants to push the narrative that they don't need to bring anything into it. Their mere presence is more than enough and men should be lucky anyone chooses to be with them at all.
