Cornbread

Well for some odd reason and 830 tonight I decided to have a craving for Cornbread for some odd reason :fullofwin:

I have never made it before and found this recipe which is actually pretty simple to make and turned out very well.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread Recipe - Allrecipes.com
Ingredients

1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8 inch square pan.
2. Melt butter in large skillet. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Quickly add eggs and beat until well blended. Combine buttermilk with baking soda and stir into mixture in pan. Stir in cornmeal, flour, and salt until well blended and few lumps remain. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
3. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

it turned out perfect nice and moist and not to heavy. If I would of known it was this easy I would of made it ages ago

After I saw the title and opened the thread I knew that at some point there would be a posting from the movie LIFE. LOLOL man did I laugh. Good call though on the recipe, I mean this honestly but I've been wanting some cornbread as well. As odd as that sounds coming from a Korean dude.

Try to make them in a muffin tin. Easier to freeze and you will get more of the crispy crust which is so fricken good

dr.funk 09-27-2011 11:57 AM
