My Dad's an instructor and has always told me in the past that the road test is not normal driving, it's more like a performance. Yes you drive like a granny but the key thing is to show how you can drive safe. Just a tip to all those who are about to take/having difficulties with the road test, remember everytime you touch any signal light, perform a shoulder check. Make sure you exaggerate the shoulder check too, as if you're checking for ants on your shoulder or something. Shoulder check early before making a right turn. And if your going into reverse, perform a 360 degree check before moving at all. Posted via RS Mobile |
Failed before also and was pretty discouraged for the rest of the year. What helped was to get a driving instructor, just for 3 sessions, to nit pick at little bad habits. After that I passed with flying colors. |
when i first took my N test the guy didn't like the fact that my parents had bought me a "hot ride" after the test he said "you did good but i still don't think you're ready, fail." when i asked him what i did wrong he said "i just dont feel you're ready yet" i was like whatever ill just take it again no need to bitch |

It's all about what you can show and prove to them that you know and it's your job to make sure you're able to. You distract them with positive things rather than let them dwell on negative things that you're doing. |
haha oh man, you should see some of the kids at the Richmond location... Doing road tests in AMGs and M3's |

It'd be the ICBC licensing center they drive into then, the only places where you end up stall parking are at the start and end of the test. Like to see them get out of that one? |

Stop driving like an idiot and you will pass. |

The reason I've heard this is cause someone in my high school kicked the instructor out of his car on a country backroad. He knew he fucked up, so he just said fuck it and gave the instructor the boot. This would be nearly 20 years ago, so no cell phones, and butt-fuck-nowhere rural Ontario. |

when i did my test, i drove around, ask to P park, then drive around and finish... this was during snow too... |
Now that you know how it feels like to fail, you don't need to worry about that feeling anymore when taking it the second time. Just practice and drive safely and you will be fine. |

If a mirror on the dash can distract you to almost run into the oncoming lane I think you need more practice. You definitely should not be driving an M3. You'll be saying shifting gears is distracting. :suspicious: |
well...it is much better than u crash your new car~~D |
Though I passed my test on the first try the test is a joke. Besides, shoulder checking is DANGEROUS and I don't do it. |

i wish i could fail you an infinite amount of times. People who don't PROPERLY shoulder check or even do it at all are the ones who side swipe others and claim they didn't see them. |
UR FAT AND UGLY |
great white buffalo... |
I guess its dangerous if you take too long to shoulder check..you do have to take your eyes off the road infront of you.. someone can brake hard or someone can run onto the road.. |
