The worst company I've ever worked for, hands down.

Unless you're desperate for a job, I would advice against working for them based on my experience.

Gh0stRider 10-19-2011 04:38 PM

i applied in november last year, no call back.

Screw futureshop.

TRDeol 10-19-2011 10:23 PM

Just got hired there 2 weeks ago. Took about 2.5 weeks to receive a call. I like the environment and its easy money if you know how to sell

Based on when I worked there, yes, cost + 10% + HST.

Normally you need to be employed for three months before qualifying for employee discounts, but sometime near the end of November that restriction is lifted until the end of the year for seasonal employees. The discount isn't great on the majority of larger items like tvs and computers, they're pretty comparable to boxing days deals. If you're into car stereo then it would be worth it to work there for a month just to get the discounts, that's easily 50-75% of retail.

great i'll apply if i think of a big ticket item i need to purchase :troll:

bestbuy doesn't have any positions with commission right?

worked at BB last christmas it was awfull.....its so awkward working there everyones on your ass. Your being watched every second, every move you make, every little thing you say. they know. Doesnt really matter if you dont plan on working there afterwards ( like me) so i trolled half the time ( played ps3 for a solid 30min a couple of times)

kluk 10-22-2011 11:37 PM

fuck futureshop. God damn worst place to work.

ForbiddenX 10-23-2011 03:03 AM

Isn't it only cost + 5%, at least at bestbuy it is.

stock up on like small ticket items like cables, really good deal on those for staff. Also used games are decently priced.

What other massive discounts is there besides car stereos? any over 40% would be considered massive.

TRDeol 10-23-2011 03:10 PM

Actually the discount is Cost + 5% + HST. I work at the Victoria location in Mobile Audio. Seasonal employees are exempt from the 3 month wait to get the discount, they get it right away.
