Help: Witness needed for accident today 3pm Rupert+Grandview.

Hi,

Please pm me if any of you guys witnessed this accident between a beige toyota sienna van and a silver hyundai sedan. It happened on rupert and grandview at 2:58-3pm. oct,02,2011

My brother was on granview facing east bound, turning left onto rupert. When a senior couple comes charging down the hill west bound on grandview, runs a red light and hits my brother.

Thanks,

J

Rupert runs north/south. You mean from Grandview going west bound?

I think he means is the following.

Brother heading Eastbound on Grandview turning left onto Rupert.

Older couple heading soutbound on Rupert and runs a red.

yea sorry, i ment the older couple running a red westbound on grandview, not rupert.

Where can i access information from a traffic cam? i'd assume there is no public service that will run through the tapes??

thanks

Best bet probably put a sign up at the intersection, it's a busy area so the chance of someone seeing the sign is greater then then someone seeing it on here!

Sorry to hear and hope you find a witness!

so your bro was turning left and there was oncoming traffic (sienna)? good luck with ICBC. Heard something about them ruling against the person turning. Did your bro see the Sienna coming and still proceeded with the turn?

sorry didnt realize how shitty my description of the event is.

my bro is in the sienna, elder couple in hyundai.

my bro is a N driver, but then again the other is elderly..and i've witness crazy shit from elders..like driving on the opposite side of traffic...anyways.

i asked my bro and he said the light has already turned yellow before he initiated the turn. All other traffic in the other lanes has stopped. The elderly in the hyundai was speeding down grandview heading west bound runs a red light in front of my brothers turning sienna. BAM!

I tell my bro all the time, dont trust other drivers in that they will stop because its a red light or because you have the right of way, always use your judgement and proceed when its safe.

sorry to hear about your ordeal.

been in these types of situations, you must proceed through intersections extremely carefully. If it means an extra minute to make sure its absolutely clear, its worth it in the long run. Red light or not, right of way goes to drivers going straight as ICBC usually rules in their favor. If you have solid evidence, you might be able to win. Good luck.
