I got to bcit, and I work.. Yeah its tough, not impossible. May be limited to shifts and hours, I work 12 hours a week. I can get by on that, my rent is free. I definitely can't spend 300 in 2 weeks. You say you have to pay for tansportation to-and-from school. Upass is included in your tuition. But yes go with government loan. Posted via RS Mobile |
I got rejected for student loans from StudentAidBC in in August.. Now I'm not going to Langara and I'm waiting for school at BCIT in Fall 2012.. :alone::alone: Maybe i filled something wrong; I could've applied for loans from the bank though. Oh well.. |

If Yaminashi wants to cheat the system, then go ahead. But he should only know that he is just hurting the students who actually need it, like maybe see.lai. If Yaminashi fills in the BCSL forms correctly (which I doubt) with no lies, then he will get rejected for sure anyways. BCSL will never give anyone who has free tuition and lives at home a loan, but it's safe to assume if he likes to steal money, he will probably lie and say he has to pay for his own tuition and he has to pay his own rent. It doesn't directly affect me, just feel bad to those who actually need it but can't get it and thus not be able to attend school because of other people's selfishness. |
They don't ask you whether or not your tuition is paid for by your parents. And saying you live with your parents will only reduce the amount they will give you. They give you more money based on your living expenses (such as if you pay rent). They also specifically state money should go towards tuition and books first, then to living expenses. It isn't a rule that it HAS to go to tuition. |

Include scholarship trust funds.] And when (if, which I doubt) he writes down the full amount of the program costs, they wont approve him. He will also probably need to get the appendix filled out by his parents. |
Really RFlush? Your flaming at Yam for being one of the people using money? Payed tuition and rent? that isnt enough for you to assume hes using the money for wrong reasons. There's so much more fees, little things that come up, living expenses, gas, food, supplies, saving, insurance, and so much more. You think him getting a loan contributes to taking money away from the students who really need it? Tell that to the fucking lotto companies who shell out billions a year to people who dont need fucking 50million dollars. Tell that to the government, who approves of the so many-unnecessary projects, buildings, malls, all that bullshit we dont even need, that are coming out of taxpayers' pockets. To the so many people who have $100/hr jobs, also payed by larger companies. Us taking student loans is NOTHING compared to how much money our gov. wastes a year. Selfishness? Everyone wants to get a slice of cake, first come first serve, too fucking bad, the world isnt fair. Ask the providers to make more, not dump it in the wrong places. Nonetheless, he only asked for opinions, not for your ass to come assuming and bagging on his ass. Get off his dick. |
RFlush you seriously have some issues you need to work on. Why would you automatically assume I intend on lying in my application? Ive called BCSL and talked to their staff and explained the very situation posted here. All they said was my allowance would be lower, and understandably so. So stop being a prick and quit your assuming. Its really making you look like a twat |
I can see where RFlush is coming from. 3 years ago I was rejected from student loans that prevented me from going to school and I missed an oppurtunity to go to nursing school because of it. After I got rejected I just worked and Kinda forgot about school. Essentially I got in a car accident and wrote off my car and had to buy a new one. It's a big red flag owning a car. But now that my car is paid off and worth about 16 grand I was easier to get loans. There are alot of students who either a) lie to get their loan b) get their loan/free money (think prior 2004) and then bought cars with it. c) fill it out truthfully and don't get it because there are people in greater need (refer to a) |
For him to attack me and automatically assume Im going to lie so I can "steal" money is absolutely ridiculous. |
