New windshield

Hi, not sure if this is the correct spot, But I need a new windshield for my 2000 integra, and was wondering if anyone knows a cheap spot, speedy glass wanted $507, and I also heard about going to the wreckers.

Nvasion 10-06-2011 11:30 AM

why not claim it? wreckers wont give u a mint condition glass... try kirmac glass

shenmecar 10-06-2011 03:26 PM

claim it thru icbc, $200 for a brand new windshield.

Madspinner 10-07-2011 01:28 PM

yeah but then rates go up, and Im not thru ICBC . and not covered under glass.

markrathgeber 10-21-2011 10:09 AM

What type of glass damage do you have?

Yes. You have to buy basic insurance through ICBC. Any additional coverages can be bought through private insurance companies.

OP - Junkyards do have windshields. However, for a car of your year, it is bound to be pitted and scratched. It will be far from mint. However, if you can live with that, I think you could get one for a decent price from the wreckers.

Had a chip in the windshield a long time ago. Decided to crack this morning. Crack is all alongthe passenger side. How do i claim this through icbc ? Or can i not?

Like you, I just had this happen to me. However, I was able research the info needed at ICBC's website.

ICBC | Glass or windshield claim

If it's just 1 window, you can drive straight to a Glass Express repair shop, no need to go to ICBC.

I want to get my windshield entirely replaced eventually. Chips here and there and a small ninja star in the middle. The ninja star isn't spreading, it's been there for like almost 2 years now. If it starts spreading sometime, I'll just get it replaced.

I guess some, if not all, Broco's are franchised out, we went to the one on No. 3 Road and Cambie, talked to Alan, who's the owner/operator ..

hey, didn't want to start a new thread.

I was cleaning my windshield today and found a bunch of tiny little chips on my front windshield. They're basically tiny little pits - but I guess these were big enough to screw with my wipers and bug me.

do you guys know if it's possible for places like Bronco glass to repair them? I have maybe like a few spots around my windshield (maybe 3 or 4 different areas with multiple holes) and they're all <1mm diameter little pits.

If your windshield is pitted, there isn't much they can do. It's not worth going through everyone. At that point, it would be cheaper to just replace the windshield.
