New Computer - No Drivers

Hello All,

I bought my computer from ATIC about 6 months ago, and never had the need for this extra computer until today.

I don't have any sound and can't find CD given to me by ATIC, I checked the computer config and it is giving me message that "Please install video driver & sound card provided by your manufacturer"

Anyone know any alternatives how I can over come this?

Thanks!

What os are you running? Connect to internet if you're on win7 and let it find Em.

Otherwise download CPUz and identify your north/southbridge/chipset and just google drivers for it. If you're really lucky you have a non generic mobo and cpuz will identify it and you can download the appropriate drivers from manufacturer

No manual either? How about a box the MB came in?

Download Piriform Speccy. Note the devices you have and google for them.

wow ATIC still exists

i hear all these horror stories from ATIC..up until few years ago my dad still shopped there for all his computer needs...the customer service isn't that bad but only if you spoke chinese :suspicious:

I went there a few times many years ago.. like 1998 or 99. The service isn't considered bad if you are used to honger places.

Yeah I used to go there all the time too.. Until I started going to NCIX and now sometimes ME.

Is it still owned by that fat old dude that has his desk in the customer area? lol

download CPU-Z!

CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting
know exactly what's in your computer

Is it onboard video and audio from the motherboard?

Another thing you could do is open up the case and look for the model number of the motherboard on the motherboard itself.

cant you just go into device manager and see what kind of hardware you have...then go to the manufacturer's website to download the latest drivers?

CP.AR 10-17-2011 02:50 PM

^ sometimes the devices are so obscure that it may only show up as a "generic display adapter" or something like that

Just open up your computer.

Takes 5 minutes tops.

What you need is "DRIVER GENIUS" from the piratebay. Download the cracked version. It will scan your computer once installed, give you a full detailed list of all the drivers your pc needs and select okay to install them all at once or uncheck the ones you dont want instead of going to google and having to find them one by one!
