Continental DWS - Balancing Problems?

I recently bought a set of Continental DWS tires for my car (215/45/17), got them installed last week.

The problem I found with the tires is it starts vibrating around 90km/h and gets worse when you reach 110km/h.

Doing a quick google search, this was one of the many common problems with the DWS

My questions would be...

-Are the tires defective causing it to not balance properly on the wheels?
-Or is it a balancing issue with the shop?

If it matters, it was Volco that did the installation, and didn't purchase the full coverage warranty :fuuuuu:

Any feedback would be great, thanks!

Sorry, I do not have these tires but you may want to check with Continental Tires to see if there is some kind of warranty or outstanding recall on these tires.

I'd check with the shop and probably do a re-balance.

My brother and I both use the DWS with no problems and tonnes of TSX owners on the two TSX boards use them with no problems either. The DWS tires are, by far, the most popular tires on the TSX boards.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, gonna head out to the shop to see what they can do.

+1 I have DWS in 225/40/19 265/30/19 on my 335XI and they are perfect.

Conti DWS are also very popular amongst Mazda 3/6 owners. I'm sure we would've heard if there was an issue.

Is it possible that the wheels are bent/flat spotted?
Or during wheel installation, a weight was knocked off?

Have you tried getting the wheels rebalanced?

Do the tires look deformed?

My last set of tires I had no issues of vibrations between the speeds of 80 to 120kmh

The wheels are currently getting rebalanced as I'm typing this.

As for the tires, they visually look fine, I will report back in a bit.

Had the wheels rebalanced, turns out it was off by 1/4oz, and was recommended hub centric rings.

So I went home to dig up the rings, and turns out I'm missing one :fuuuuu:

2 on the front, 1 on the back, no biggie.

Just make sure to torque in 30ft/lb incriments. No issues w/o rings from me.

So how do you like them so far? I was thinking of getting a set for the winter season, since I read they are pretty decent in light snow for all seasons

weird I have the exact same size DWS (215/45/17) I love them, but yeah on the highway I do notice a little bit of vibration nothing violent but it's there when I'm going 90+
