The Nokia Lumia 800: Rebirth of Nokia and Windows Phone Just announced officially at Nokia World. For those who love the N9's minimalistic design but don't want to buy a dying OS. Nothing new about Mango OS, but Nokia did come up with Nokia Mix Radio (cloud based service that mixes playlists for you based on genres, but not entirely sure how it works as you can download music for FREE without a subscription ) and Nokia Drive built right into the OS. PRICE Pre-order right now for €420 which is ~$595 CAD AVAILABILITY Will not be available in North America for a while.. First batch is Europe (France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and UK). Second is Asia (Hong Kong, India, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan). Then China early in 2012, and LASTLY "further markets" sometime later next year which is basically North America. :yuno: Brings back memories of the Pre-iPhone days.. when people were crazy about Nokia/SE and that they were only ever available in Europe/HK.. http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/wp-cont...ws-phone22.jpg |
:Puke: windows phone yuck The Nokia 710 was also announced btw WP7 as well $375 http://www.viddler.com/explore/engadget/videos/3426/ edit: the 800 and 710 aren't equipped with Nokias typical Pentaband radios; they're tri-band; no camera on the front and no fm radios and the N800 is only 16bit screen the 710 is 24bit :Puke:WP7 and Maemo6 (Harmattan) in the N9 isn't dying... its getting massive updates + nokia is already working on Maemo7 aka Meltemi what people and reviewers continue to confuse/mixup is that they think the N9 is MeeGo but it isn't it's Maemo6 with support for Meego API Meego is dead; Intel merged it with Samsung and created some abomination N9 lives on QT and QT is doing well hell your Origin Login for BF3 is QT based anyway the N9/Maemo isn't dead; Elop was purposefully obscure when he said there would be no more MeeGo devices when discussing the N9 since he's a Microsoft troll |
nowhere else to put this so im bumping http://www.liveforfilms.com/wp-conte...ddition-wm.jpg a batman edition is coming phone seems to be gaining some real steam too ppl find it faster/easier to use than the iphone im not a fan though of the ui |
WP7 is not bad, from what I've played with it on a friend's phone. (Omnia?) |
i dont mind the apps they look nice and seem to run great i just detest the UI and the closed OS |

Love my 710. App store needs more content tho to keep up with ios/droid. |
that's what im hearing too they're up to 80,000 apps though and Microsoft is still paying for more; suspected they'll hit 100k by the summer/fall |

Everything seems pretty easy to navigate after trial, anything good apps to purchase from nokia store? |
City Lens and Nokia Drive are the most useful for me, emphasis on the latter. Get City Lens via Nokia City Lens (beta), discover local interests with augmented reality | wpcentral | Windows Phone News, Forums, and Reviews of course it's still in beta but it's fun to play around with lol. |
This looks hot https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...02422467_n.jpg |
Yeah. I've been looking for the purity earbuds but I don't think you can buy them locally. They're only hope for having volume control on my earphones.. :okay: |
you can buy them online from places like expansys Search Results for: "purity" - EXPANSYS Canada or Amazon http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...s=nokia+purity but i dont see why you would... horrible horrible sq thats what you have to expect from Monster/Beats as for City Lens it works great on symbian i dont know if the WP includes all the same features either way your screen can get extremely cluttered if you have everything checked off ;) |
The earbuds that come in the box don't have volume control. That's why I want it. I guess I could just get a Fiio e5/e7 but that might render the play/pause control useless. |
