Wow, every single contestant did great tonight.

Except Renee. I'm sorry, I really don't buy into him at all. I'm sure he's a nice guy and he's been through a lot. But let's not forget this is a talent competition. Almost every contestant that didn't even make it into the live shows had more talent than him. The only things keeping him in this are his rehab past, and his Little Homie song. Aside from his audition, he never had one good week. He'll probably get a one-song distribution deal when he leaves the show anyway.

My predictions for bottom 3 are.. Renee, Astro, and Leroy.

 wahh I don't want Leroy to go..

!Yaminashi 11-23-2011 08:29 AM

Leroy is good, but not $5mil good. For me he doesnt have enough range in his voice.
But dont spoil it for me I have it PVR'd:p

dachinesedude 11-23-2011 08:51 AM

chris is still around cuz he's popular, not so much that he's super talented

judges love him cuz he's got the "studio voice"

when it comes to true talent i think Josh has got it, he's super underrated

Actually, this is not a talent competition. They are looking for a recording artist, not a vocalist. Lot's of people have really good voices as you said but they don't perform. Chris has good performances and also connects with people. That's what they are looking for. They're looking for a star. You definitely need more then talent to win this show.

They say this in this video.

dinosaur 11-23-2011 09:54 AM

I want Leroy gone....I don't find him interesting or exciting.

Same with that religious chick from Florida.....amazing voice, but so boring.

Ronin 11-23-2011 10:04 AM

Kid killed it again. Not as much as week 2 with Eminem but it was an appropriate song choice and...WHAT THE FUCK...ASTRONAUTS...

LOL what the fuck is that Nicole Sherzingerihgiehoeqwith0uegb wearing?

EDIT: Just watched Rachel Crow...holy shit she's awesome too.

PJ 11-23-2011 10:20 AM

@Yaminashi
I know Leroy wont win.. He's just my favorite :alonehappy:

Melanie has the best voice hands down.. But lacks personality. And I'm gonna say it again, but so did Leona Lewis.

Regarding Chris, the show ultimately is a competition to find yes, a recording artist. I know first hand about being a singer and a recording artist. I work with these people every week at the studio. You do need more than talent to win this show. But really, Renee barely has the talent side. He has a story of his rough past, and a sub-par song he wrote. Not even close to being worth 5 mil. Throw some light autotune on his singing, and there you have it. Another mediocre half-rapper-half-singer. He really did not have one good week since his audition. He can't keep singing that one song over and over. I'm pretty sure he pissed off a lot of true Beatles fans last night by trying to sing that song. If he somehow manages to make it though tonight, I'm really curious about what song they're gonna have him do next week.

Simon Cowell & L.A. Reid: Recording Artist vs. Singer & Chris Rene - YouTube

This. I think it really showed when they sent Tiger Budbill home and put fucking Dexter through to the live shows. Like seriously. What. the. fuck.

MeetHanz 11-23-2011 11:28 AM

I'm so done with Drew.

PJ 11-23-2011 11:35 AM

Simon needs to throw Drew into a faster song. Maybe an Avril song or something. As much as I like Drew and Simon, I have to agree with LA that she hasn't shown much versatility in her style.

Bender Unit 11-23-2011 11:52 AM

Josh Krajcik performed better and better every week.
Right Song week after week.

I really like Drew. But as mentioned above.. She need To throw in some faster song to show her range.

As much as I like Leroy, he did get boring now after these many week.

411ken 11-23-2011 11:52 AM

I guess I was right about Astro's song this week would be about the fans, etc etc.....I like how at the end of his song, LA Reid stood up and reminded him to apologize again before the judges speak lol...

The song was OK to me... some of the lyrics are weird for me during this one.. like "there's other places I can't pronounce like Nova Scotia"... :S can't pronounce it, yet he was able to say it LOL... :fulloffuck:

411ken 11-23-2011 11:53 AM

Simon and LA Reid argument was as real as it gets.... good stuff.

dinosaur 11-23-2011 12:28 PM

I really really really like Josh! His song last night is one of my all-time fav cover songs and I really think he would have a successful career, but I don't think he is going to win.

I hope he at least has a good music career when he is done though...

!Yaminashi 11-23-2011 03:37 PM

I still remember the look on Simon's face when Josh had his first audition, when he told them what song he was singing.

Simon was like "...really?" :seriously:

UBC 11-23-2011 03:39 PM

I think drew needs to go home. everyone else is getting better....but drew is getting boring with her slow and sappy songs.

dinosaur 11-23-2011 07:53 PM

Not really that shocking tonight.

My guess is Drew or Marcus will be next...or maybe that chris dude. i dig what he is trying to do, but it think he sucks at it. plus, i don't give a shit about his story....give him 6 months in Hollywood and i bet he will relapse.

That's her thing. They do need to throw her into a fast song, but her identity as a singer is singing ballads.

Noo soo sad about the results  But I guess it was expected. He was my favorite contestant :alonehappy:

That's what I thought from the start about Renee. With $5mil, it'd be hard for anyone not to relapse. But I guess you never know.

Drew's not going anywhere for at least another couple weeks. I think Renee, Astro, or Marcus will be next.

dinosaur 11-23-2011 09:47 PM

^ I agree with the Drew thing....this isn't american idol....we dont need to hear her sing Elvis, etc...why push her into something else?? You don't seen them asking Astro to sing a ballad or that Melanie chick to rap.

TheSalesman 11-24-2011 03:37 AM

I wonder how it's going to be next week. Are they going to eliminate 2 more people the same way?

StylinRed 11-24-2011 04:14 AM

u guys realize that $5million dollar contract will have so many clauses in it that the artist probably wont see it right?

its probably like a 20 disc recording contract and the artist will need to sell like 100million records before that contract pays out ;)

PJ 11-24-2011 05:56 AM

Of course they're not going to get the whole $5mil off the bat, but it's still a step up from American Idol.

And it's all about royalties.. with Youtube, digital downloads, not to mention the Pepsi commercial, it'll probably come out to around ~$5mil anyway over a relatively short amount of time

fsy82 11-24-2011 09:06 AM

who got booted last night?

apparently it's going to be guaranteed.
The Clicker - Simon: 'X Factor' winner will get $5 million in cash

and assuming it wasn't and history ended up repeating itself, as in the following article, then having nearly five million spent to promote your career would probably still earn you a considerable amount of money.

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Cowell laughs off X Factor leak

i doubt simon would allow a similar incident occurring again since he introduced the five million dollar contract in the first place to top american idol. and, as pj detailed, the winner will probably see money coming in through other avenues like the 2010 uk winner:

"But Matt’s predicted earnings are set to make him the most successful winner ever with predicted earning of £500,000 from modeling contracts, £1million from live performances including the X Factor tour, £1.5million netted from major commercial deals and a whopping £2million from record sales alone."
