I'm mostly in favor of legalizing pot.
My one gripe is that, while most people say that they do things better on pot, at least in my own experience, and observing people while they're high; you do not.
To some degree you are impaired, and I would hate to have someone high while driving, or high while at work. So for me to be behind legalization of pot, there's got to be some pretty kick-ass plan for testing drivers/at the work place (ala breathalysers).

You shouldn't decide not to smoke weed just because its illegal, but because in some way, it is unhealthy for you. Eg; fucking up your lungs, and for atheltes thats a no-no. at least to me, i want to stay healthy.

Legalize it, there could be so many beneficial changes, as long as its not abused.
Cigarettes and alcohol are legal and have and will have killed more people than marijuana ever will. I see no logic in the prohibition of it.. all its caused is increased crime, trafficking, and the whole lot of problems that come with it.

Hate to have high-drivers? What about drunk drivers, they have the same potential to cause harm and to wreak havoc on the roads. Marijuana is healthier than alcohol and cigarettes, yet the marijuana is illegal.

As mentioned above, we should be able to decide what we want to do with our bodies, as long as it doesnt cause harm to others.

Pretty much what everyone has stated. You should have autonomy of what you want to do with your body. That's Section Seven of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

We already have laws that govern our actions if we harm other people. So if it does not harm anyone or disturb anyone's space. Why not? I do not need the government in telling me what to do and what not to do. An extreme example, if heroin is legalized tomorrow, how many people in this thread will try heroin tomorrow ?
