cancer for the 3rd time..

soo.... a very close friend of mine is having cancer for the 3rd time.. are cancers harder and harder to treat each time it comes back? ... What can i do for her??... i'm very lost right now..

murd0c 11-01-2011 06:24 PM

Just be there and give her all the positive support you can. Friendship is really important in cases like this and if you can help her take her mind off things and making her laugh and happy for even a split second will mean everything to her.

With each relapse, cancer becomes more resilient than the previous episode. Like what murdoc says, keep her company. Laughter is the best medicine. Laughter decreases cortisol, decreases pain, boosts epinephrine, boosts immune system, and all sorts of good stuff. Her immune system usually gets shot with chemotherapy and is susceptible to infections.

Should we be giving you a Nobel prize for cancer research?

i wish her good health and kudos to you for being there for her.

make sure she lives and eats healthy , keep her emotion relaxing, no stress.
DO NOT try alternative therapy that might trigger it to spread.

It is a bomb, cancer has taken away six of my close relatives and dozen people I know. So please body check every year!

The mind is a powerful, keep her happy and motivated to persevere will help a lot. Positive reinforcement and as a lot of ppl have mentioned, laughter, it's the best medicine for the body.

Check out Louise Hay - YOU CAN HEAL YOUR LIFE
My advice for your friend is that if the cancers keep coming back then there is a part of their life they have not changed yet thus no matter what you cut out or burn or medicate - until you treat the root cause of the cancer it will NEVER go away!
Find out what the root cause is and fix that - no conventional doctor will help you with that - it will be emotional, spiritual and a little bit physical - but mostly emotional. Look deep within.
Good luck!

I've known someone who's died of cancer
Don't know what else to say but to stay
Positive and do whatever she wants in life

Actually chemo treatment is what causes cancer to come back after you've been cured. Do some research. Those that undergo chemo are 300% more likely to have another cancer later on.

pray for her every day
we were all born crying, and everyone else around you was smiling. live your life so at the end, you're the one smiling and everyone else around you is crying. shit happens, but make the best out of the situation

maintain the optimism, and what murd0c says,

positive support

Help her fulfill her bucket list...

Whether the people around her are happy or sad, the cancer is still going to be here.

Whether she sits and does nothing, or tries to do everything, the cancer is still going to be here.

You may as well help her fulfill everything she's ever wanted to do in life, so she can truly say she's lived life to the fullest.
