Can anyone recommend good earphones?

Looking for something that will provide deep bass, and in-ear.

The majority of my music will be trance, and I'll be mainly using it in the gym and when I'm on the go.

My budget is around $180, but the cheaper the better.

Thank you!

I have Shure SE215. I heard from others that this set provides more bass than SE315 or SE425.

It's pretty good for what its cost.

Bass? Beats Tour.

Fcukedd 11-08-2011 09:45 PM

How reliable are the Shure SE215? The price seems fairly good.

I've read some reviews on the Beats Tour, and they seem to break very easily.
I actually have more than enough Airmiles for the DiddyBeats. Anyone have experience with them?

What is the source of your music and what quality is it?
If it's gym and out and about... I can't recommend proper in-ear-monitors enough. As in not just "ear buds", but proper IEMs that sit in the ear canal.

I have used a pair of Westone UM2 in the past, they are dual driver IEMs.
If your music player has a clean amp, then they will do your music justice.

if its for the gym, id say save ur money and dont buy $100+ earbuds.

id recommend something cheaper like the m11/m11+ from MEE. they always have promotions on their site so u can usually find them for around less than $30 including shipping. bass is heavier but doesnt quite overpower the highs or lows so for trance, i find it perfect. it also comes with a whole bunch of different rubber inserts so finding the right fit shouldnt be an issue.

warranty is spot on also since mine gave out around the 8 month mark due to the cable being tugged on a lot while doing weighted pullups and heavy usage. company sent out a replacement right away and came in less than a week and i didnt even have to send the old pair back.

this is important too. I know a fair few people that listen to crap quality files on an MP3 player/ipod with crppy sound quality, and expensive headphones :speechless:

Read this thread: Multi-IEM Review - 204 IEMs compared (Brainwavz Beta & Section 8 Earbuds added 11/07/11)

It isn't the be-all, end-all of IEM resources, but it is a great starting point to see which IEMs you would like to look deeper into.

Anyone have experience with the Klipsch S4?

I'm considering those as the price isn't too high, although I've read some reviews and they say that the lows are not very absent.

Excelsis 12-18-2011 01:14 PM

i use the bose ie2 earphones atm, they're not bad, but when i go out for running it's a bit uncomfortable

heard reviews of s4 and they're much better than the ie2, should've done more research before i bough em.. and what i hate about bose is that my earphones aren't isolating so i have to turn up my music, might switch over to s4's or x10's myself lol

Fcukedd 12-19-2011 09:58 PM

Just purchased the Klipsch S4 at Futureshop on sale for $69.99 (retails for $109.99) with the 2-year warranty, so it came out to be $101 after tax.

Sound clarity is very good, wish it was bassier though, but definitely a good investment IMO.

S4i's were around $50 at FS recently. May have been an online deal.

S4i used to be $124ish, and then with the BOGO deal it was cheaper, but not $50.

I have the beats tour in-ear and I dont recommend it if you plan on using it @ the gym. It will fall out of your ears for sure. I constantly have to put them back into my ear @ the gym. This is coming from apple headphones user, which I didnt have too much trouble with. Sound quality wise it's awesome compared to the Apple headphones. Can't say how they sound compared to others. I listen to EDM as well so the bass is better with the beats. I dont think it's worth retail price though ($180 or whatever it is @).

Seriously dont waste your money on bose, klipsche, or monster. Look into MEElectronics M6.
Over the ear design with memory wire, triple flanged tips for good noise cancellation and great bass.
I use these at the gym and they're amazing. Best part is they cost me $50 AFTER tax and shipping

Excelsis 12-20-2011 12:24 PM

LOL @ beats in ear "isolation"
