You dont need any of those burners.. mine i neither of those..

you NEED Imgburn 2.5.6.0

Set the layer break to "Calculate Optimal" - IMPORTANT because the .dvd has the correct settings for the layer break, and if it was changed for the older (pre-X3GD settings) it wont work..

set the write speed to 2X or 2.4X and not AWS or the fastest settigns..

when you hit write, a window pops up and select "Write to end of disc (Truncate)"

then just wait for it to finish

Ive have no coasters yet and ive used Memorex and Verbatim dvds..

You do if you want to burn the games properly.
If you burn without those burner/burner max firmware
You only get 97% of the actual game which does not pass some civ checks.

I've used your method before as well. But trust me... Try using that method with forza 4 and guaranteed you'll be banned.

I don't care about CIV checks because my console is banned already.

I have the newest IMG Burn, I changed the write setting to calculate optimal
I always use the slowest 2x speed.

I click truncate not overburn. It burns 100% but when it tries to verify data it throws an error i think around 49%. For 007 the game worked but i haven't played throughout to see if the whole game is there. For Assasins Creed Revelations it doesn't read the disc at all.

I keep getting "disc unreadable" and random freezing too just using a regular burner and imgburn with the above settings...
My console is banned as well.

I think the problem is with the media type
I'm using TDK discs which worked perfectly with old games but all new XGD3 games have problems.
Gonna try Verbs next. I think Verbs are a requirement for these new XGD3 games since they're so big

verbatims are hard to get... i got the last 30pk from memory express last month... not sure if they ordered more in...

try memorex.. never had any problems... but i havent used memorex's on the new xgd3 games yet..

i dont play online coz im cheap and dont want to spend $80/yr to play online.. if i wanted to play online, i would play it on my pc or ps3.. its free..

I always use Verbatim.

Still looking for an answer.
Looks like LG burners are having a problem. Will try using my Sony burner next.
