FS: 1992 Civic VX 1992 Civic VX still in original shape 370,xxx km 5 speed d15z1 (vtec-e) Originally white outside, now primered (black). Blue cloth interior. The VX is a rare model that was designed to be a mileage king. It had the lightest possible body, forged alloys and underbody aero panels from the factory. Mechanically what made the VX different was higher gearing and the special wideband equipped Vtec-E Lean burning engine that runs up to 22:1 AFR under the right conditions. This car hit 50mpg in 1992 and is still very sporty to drive like all Civics of this generation. Well maintained by original owner who kept a journal of everything he did. Regular maintenance was all on schedule, timing belt and clutch done every 100k, with inspections and bushings/wheel bearings when needed all documented. It has a new Head unit and speakers to make the commute more bearable, but is otherwise 100% stock. Body isn't great - Its got typical rear arch rust and is primer black, but what do you expect for a beater that can keep up with a modern TDI in fuel economy. Only outstanding issue is the transmission which has the honda input shaft bearing howl (I still daily drive it but it should be done) I already have a transmission repair kit with new bearings and seals so either rebuild it yourself, 700$ if you pay a shop, or buy another D series trans for 100$ and swap it out but lose the VX long gearing. I can get this repaired before sale if requested, but it will up the sale price by exactly what it costs. http://i.imgur.com/UTainl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/7zD4ul.jpg http://i.imgur.com/hHvOLl.jpg 1100$ Edit:950$ |
Rare model and if it's in good condition an awesome find. Hopefully someone buys this for what it is and doesn't swap out that motor. Most fuel efficient car of it's time! Berz out. |
Its in good mechanical condition, but the sad part of the VX legacy is people buy them to put lots of miles on them so the bodies get beaten up, but the price reflects that. |
Bump, lowering the price to 950$ obo. |
