lol, alcohol is a social lubricant. alcohol loosens you up and makes you lose some inhibitions. some people like it so they can be more outgoing, and more fun. the degree to HOW MUCH inhibitions you lose is dependent on how much you drink.

Some people enjoy socializing and getting drunk, meeting new people, picking up chicks, etc. Most people who end up getting wasted just don't know their tolerance. I know I wouldn't go to parties with the intentions of blacking out.
