1997 honda prelude,anyone install/rebuild/or used transmission,asap?
 

hi there,i have 1997 honda prelude,the transmission is acting up big time,done all tranny flushes and etc...,will make a whining noise from first to second gear,all other gears are fine,i need a tranny rebbuilt or anyone have a used tranny for cheap to install for me,need this asap!

ps.its an automatic/tipronic transmission,the best,nottttttttttttt!

auto or 5 speed?

those autos suck.
I seen a few on craigslist but a 5spd would be ideal.

yeh bud,they are so weak,even with low kms on my car,its still messed up...i dont get it,why the hell everything esle is awesome in preludes,except that stupid tranny

On my old prelude i replaced the tranny twice. not worth the money. if you really want to keep it auto then go to mr transmission on lougheed hwy in bby. the reason for the transmission failure is because it generates a ton of heat. for my wife's accord they put a tranny cooler and friction kit. this was two years ago for her 98 v6 accord. we've had no problems since. it cost us 3gs but there was nothing else wrong with the car.

fsy82 thanks! how much did u pay for the tranny for the old lude if u remember? im just trying to do it asap,but dont wanna get ripped off though!

lees transmission on hastings... my gfs dad brought their prelude there.. so far so good and theres a 2 year warranty

do u know how much they charged them by anychance? i was qouted 2150 today

Lee's Transmission - they've been there for decades and if it's the same owner, I wouldn't hesitate to go there. Not the cheapest place but straight up, honest and stands by their work.

no matter how many times u rebuild it, even if you rebuild it outta gold, its gonna die again. 5spd swap or sell.
