Commercial License and alcohol It was recently brought to my attention by a co-worker, that if you have a commercial drivers licence (Class 1, 2, 3, or 4), it includes a zero alcohol restriction. Meaning, even if I'm off the clock, driving my car home, I can't have any alcohol in my system or am subject to penalty. His explanation was that ICBC considers me to be a professional driver 24/7 and as such, cannot be driving with alcohol in my system. I searched ICBC's site and went through my books but couldn't find anything. Is this true? Any links? Thanks. |
All restrictions are listed on the back of your physical licence card. I've yet to see that restriction on anything but a Class 7 L or N licence. |
That's part of the CVSA criteria, but not enforced in BC. |
