blackberry not connecting to 3G i bought a blackberry torch 9810 from an RS member thats rogers branded but unlocked. I put my sim card in and everything seems to be working but when i tried to browse the net or log in to facebook it tells me that i do not have a data network. There is an H+ symbol beside the reception bar instead of a 3G. is there a special setting im suppose to do or something i have to do in order to make it run on 3G? My provider is Fido by the way. |
..Do you have a data plan from Fido? |
|
yes i do have a data plan. i switched back to my iphone and it works fine. i can browse the net with my iphone and even in my old samsung jet but not with my blackberry torch. i checked my network settings well and i currently have it on automatic detection for 3G. |
Did you change the apn settings? Apn: internet.fido.ca Username: fido Password: fido Posted via RS Mobile |
i got it to work now. it was a really hard process. i had to throw it in the corner floor 5 times, yell at it for being a worthless piece of device, give it an evil stare for 5 minutes and whisper backstabbing words at it. but in seriousness, i just took off the simcard and put it back in and suddenly it worked. but the symbol i have is still H+ which means im using HSDPA. is there a big difference or are they the same? |
H+ is faster than 3G Posted via RS Mobile |
You need to call fido and have it changed to a blackberry data plan.. and yes, H+ is faster than 3G Posted via RS Mobile |
H+ is fine. The phone is capable of HSDPA speeds @ a theoretical 14.4Mbps. 3G speeds are limited to 7.2Mbps. |
thanks for the help guys! appreciate much |
