removing stereo deck
 

Having a hard time taking out my kenwood kdc-mp919 deck from my mazda =[

Attempted to push in the clips on the sides with butter knives but i only managed to budge the deck by a few millimeters. I think I also loosened up some cables, since now the deck doesn't light up but still runs.

Your deck may be ISO mounted or back strapped IE bolted in not cage mounted. If thats the case the removal keys will not help you.

Checked the manual/forums and it confirmed the key removal luckily. Dropped by walmart and bestbuy with no luck.

We have loads of those keys kicking around. Phil may be right about the iso mount thing though. Drop in for a closer inspection and free keys.

Thanks for the input g's, just a little question offtopic. Do you guys know if kenwood will come out with new stereo decks for 2012? or are new decks releases rare

Yes. They are most likely coming out with their new products at CES this January. Keith from our shop will be attending this year so I am sure we can get some insight before they even hit the market! We could even grab you their new brochure before anybody gets to see it.
