Tires Question

I own a 07 Civic LX Sedan

The tire recommendation is

205 55 16

But can I put on

195 65 15 (Winter Tires)

Instead

And will it damage the car?

And what about the breaks, will it be less effective?

Thanks

Short answer: Yes, it will work.

Thanks but I kind of knew it will work apparantly because 205 55 16 and 195 65 15 tires have about the same diameter, but since its a 15 inch rim I don't know if it will fit the breaks or damage it when installing perhaps. I was mostly asking

- Will it damage the car?

- What about the breaks, will it be less effective?

- Have anyone put on the 195 65 15 before on their Civic

- Will it damage the car? No unless inflicted by your own poor driving. The speedometer will not be accurate because you've changed the rotation frequency

- What about the breaks, will it be less effective? unaware of whether taking breaks while driving are effective or not solely based on changing your tire size , no scientific research has been done on such a retarded topic.

- Have anyone put on the 195 65 15 before on their Civic ? Yes but they probably didn't live to tell their tale

Ummm unless you meant put on those tires with new wheels as well, it won't work.

1. Brakes

2. There will be little to no affect on braking capabilities, possibly a slight improvement.

3. No, what could possibly be damaged?

4. What Jgresh said.
