:failed:

It's a dog. The only reason why people like the photo is because of the dog. If it was just a dead person with his family crying would you have picked it.

It's terrible that humans care more about animals than there fellow man.

Yes I have owned a dog it was a German Shepard. A real dog not some force bread dog that's life expectancy has been shortened just so they can carry it in a bag.

A dog will love you unconditionally. People, for the most part, suck.

It just one powerful image that is included with other images in a list. It doesn't mean they should be ranked or somehow compared to the objective impact of the said image. Having the dog mourning his owner image is not mutually exclusive to the tsnaumi images nor does it take away the impact if say a human being was in the image.

Instead, the image highlights how living beings cross-species mourn a loss, which is more powerful considering how unconditional love is for a dog -> owner. Simply being part of an image collection shouldn't negate the impact of the other images.

yeah, you really think a crying person in front of a dead soldier's casket doesn't have the same effect? wake up.

I agree with Manic. Some of these pictures represent the suffering of thousands. In the case of the tsunami were talking thousands of deaths + lives turned upside down. And the most moving out of all them is a sad dog?!??! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my doggy, but one sad animal shouldn't outweigh thousands of innocent people dying slow painful deaths.

And threatening to take away the fail button over one fail.....talk about getting butt-hurt. It's just a fail.

I said to me, personally, as a dog owner. Did I say it was the saddest, most moving photo out of the entire 45? No, so really, all you're basing your opinion on is an assumption. Read my post again and maybe you can comprehend what I was saying. Just maybe.

I asked him to explain why he failed me because I really could not find any reason for why a post like that would be failed and your guys' explanations just make me SMH. :failed:

Don't use your mod powers to further your own opinions, or you may lose your shiny mod powers.
Lead by example, not force.

Hondaracer 12-09-2011 11:06 AM

There's alot of people in this world I'd prefer dead over the great dogs I've had that have passed away.

It has nothing to do with furthering my opinion dude. It has everything to do with forcing people to explain their reasons for failing a post. Otherwise, people just click on the button and never post in the thread. You really think he (or others) would have posted a response if I hadn't challenged him to? I've done this in a few situations already and it's proven effective.

If everyone explained there fails there would be more posts explaining there fails than actual posts. But if that's what you want so be it.

This is my post explaining why I failed you again.

kwy 12-09-2011 01:52 PM

I personally think certain fails should be explained. When you fail someone's opinion, you better be able to back up why it was failed..

bing 12-09-2011 02:08 PM

^so if someone has 10 fails from a single post by different people, we should have 10 replies appear in the thread?

Everyone does interpret things their own way and there are so many things that could be disagreed on from attitude to the way it was written to what was said, blah blah.

kwy 12-09-2011 02:23 PM

When 10 people fail one person on something, it was likely a fail worthy post. When you have a pretty rational post that gets failed by one or two people, there should be some sort of explanation. Most opinion-based posts should be pretty off limits to failing. We all have different opinions. In the forum rules, it even says that each fail should be explained. Of course, that's not always practical, and not many people follow that rule.
It's kind of common courtesy to explain a fail.

Hondaracer 12-09-2011 04:35 PM

you all get fails.

kwy 12-09-2011 04:56 PM

Grow up.

carisear 12-09-2011 06:39 PM

lol at all the fail talk. *waits to get failed so i can feel part of the crowd*
