1000 laps in one hour?
With 12 Go-Karts, each one would have to go, on average, a lap and a half per minute to reach that goal. Is that possible?

HonestTea 12-13-2011 11:25 AM

Damn...Too bad I have a poker tournament on that day or else I'd totally join :(

Pretty sure even the worst karter can put down 90+ laps even with crashes and pit stops. 1,000 is certainly doable.

If any of you are stopping by TBC this month, please have a look around your kitchen for any non-perishable food items you can donate. We'll have a collection box at TBC for the rest of the month.

It's more like 2 laps per minute. A decent laptime (by decent I mean good, but totally do-able by almost anyone that knows how to brake properly and how to take lines) is about 31~32 seconds at that specific track I believe.

So, 12*2*60 = 1440 laps. Seems like it can be done if people average 43.2 seconds a lap. 35~38 seconds are usually the worst scores on a normal heat, but having to do this for 1 hour might drain performance but even then 43.2 is really forgiving and definitely possible.

We were just shy of $1500 :)

Winning team got 115 laps, I was right behind with 113 laps. Didn't quite hit my goal but still happy and had a lot of fun.

Thanks to the OpenRoad group and VCMC for putting this on!
