Apple vs Bestbuy for buying an ipad2?

Is there any advantage or disadvantage in buying an ipad2 from either the apple store or bestbuy/futureshop?

Or does it not matter? Also, is the warrenty from both options worth it on the ipad2?

Find some Staples coupons and buy it from Staples.

if you buy an ipad2 from bb or fs their service plan for 2 years is covered through the manufacturer for the first year and then directly through bb or fs for the second year. Not too sure how apple care works though if you decide to buy an extended plan (apple store)

Keep in mind that bb and fs have an awesome return policy. The product is covered through the store for the first 30days w/ hassle free returns.

I recommend Applecare over Futureshop warranty due to better service. You can still applecare if you buy from FS.

from what i heard, staples is having a doorcrasher with the ipad2 ($50 bucks off any ipad) it's either this fri/sat or next.

find some save $20 for spending $150+ coupon online (a lot of them say phone/online orders only but they WILL work in stores) and you're good =)

if you know someone who works at staples they can save you another 10%

Keep in mind the service plan at BB/FS covers the battery, and that's the main focus for them to sell the plans.

They definitely do for the iPad. Not for computers. I've seen exchanges done.

maybe special circumstances, I've bought my iPad (1st gen) in and they said no, called the 1800-bb said nope.

Buy AppleCare for iPad. You must do it. It covers battery if it drops below 50% of its original capacity. Which means you will definitely get your battery replaced once.

I thought Apple didn't allow extended service plans on their iPads apart from their own Applecare?

And yes, Staples is having a $50 off sale sometime this week. As mentioned, find a coupon code if you're able to.

jribchester8 12-13-2011 10:49 PM

go to apple man, awesome customer service, and applecare is so painless when you need to make returns/ get repairs

PsycHo_DraGoN69 12-14-2011 12:52 AM

I hate that thread lol. Those always end up to be used cause not everyone posts that they used a coupon.
