Pioneer Avic U310BT Won't Hold Charge Hey guys, So I have a Pioneer Avic U310BT double din deck but it doesn't currently hold charge when the car is not running... For those that are unfamiliar with this deck, the actual screen can be removed and used as a GPS, etc... Example: http://reviews.cnet.com/sc/33712797-2-440-FACE-4.jpg While the unit is connected to the actual receiver in the car, it charges and works fine as a deck. However, when I remove the screen it appears as though the internal battery no longer holds charge, and I am prompted with a message that says "Battery too low! Shutting down the system." Even when I connect it to my computer and charge it via USB it does not seem to remain charged, it will last for maybe 5 minutes from fully charged before I am prompted with the same message again. Am I simply able to take it apart and replace the internal battery? Possibly solder in a new one? Or am I SOL? Granted all the features etc still work, just not as a standalone unit separated from the deck. I hope that makes sense... Thanks TL;DR - Detachable screen won't hold charge when not plugged into deck - Curious as to whether or not I can replace the internal batter or if I should just get another deck |
These units usually have a one year warranty...I would bring it back and have it replaced. Thats what SoundsGood and all the other sponsors would do if you bought it from any of us. :) |
Hm... thing is it came out of a used car one of my friends purchased... I'll try to look into it online if it's possible to see if there's a valid warranty as I have the box/manuals etc. Thanks Mike |
