96 si swap into 2000 hatch???
 

i bought a civic from a friend mid swap,

the car is a 2000 civic hatchback, stock with a d16y7.

i put in a 96 si engine (d16y8) put that engine, wiring harness and ecu in. and it only turns over.

i noticed the y8 has 3 ecu plugs off the engine harness that go into the ecu.. but with the y7 there is only 2 off the engine harness that go to the ecu, the 3rd connection for the ecu goes into the dash harness..

I'm really new to working on things with ECU's so this is all very foreign to me.

oh yea i forgot to mention someone said something about the 96 being obd2a and the 2000 being obd2b
