can't access revscene.net from home

everytime i try to access revscene.net from machine it says "URL requested not found" but i'm able to log in and post from work laptop using the connection at home =\..

i'm assuming this has something to do with the server change - how can i fix it so that i can login from home?

Try flushing your DNS cache

ipconfig /flushdns

Some people have manually entered the new IP in their hosts files, but that shouldn't be necessary.

done. it takes me to a apache 2 test page powered by CentOS

SkinnyPupp 12-28-2011 08:38 AM

wtf it is still pointing to the old IP then

SkinnyPupp 12-28-2011 08:40 AM

There's no way it should still be going there. The change took place days ago! Your DNS is fucked, or your ISP is cheaping you out by caching for DAYS. You will have to edit the hosts file.

Google up instructions, here is the IP you need: 50.23.150.122

done. working.

would be a good idea to post the solution on facebook group. i know atleast one guy was having issues similar to mine.

Are you on some really cheap ISP plan or something? Or are you using their proxy? This shouldn't be possible at all.

tiger_handheld 12-28-2011 09:30 AM

i noticed the host file had rs with ip#. so i must've edited it sometime back cuz of change back then. i just deleted the lines.

:p

Had the same problem, thought rs was down for a few days. Edited the host file and its all good now.

SkinnyPupp 12-29-2011 03:16 AM

You mean you had to add it to get it to work, or did you add it before and forget about it like tiger?

!oHenry 12-29-2011 10:08 AM

I added it before and forgot about it.

IIRC, I think it was this thread:
http://www.revscene.net/forums/61101...-new-home.html

that prompted me to change the host.
