Have you gotten rid of this thing yet?
If not. You must be using it as option 6

I think where the iPad excels is connectivity. I didn't like the iPad until I got the apple TV for christmas and bought a Bower and Wilkins speaker dock.

The apple TV allows you to stream directly from your apple devices on to the television using the wi-fi in your house. You can be watching a video on youtube and effortlessly stream to your living room television. The iPad itself can be used as the remote so instead of docking the unit, it's in close proximity for navigating through your collection. The feature also works with photos/games/music (especially if you have a nice home stereo system) which allows you to "mirror" activity on to the bigger screen.

The Bowers speaker system allows you to stream music from any apple device equipped with wifi as well. It's really useful when friends are over (and most people have an iPhone) so they can play their own music if desired.

I find that iPad if being used for certain applications (games/web browsing/work) it lacks power and points. If you're using it as a centerpiece for you're entertainment system (streaming music/videos/movies) and don't want to deal with HDMI cables and running wires, the iPad is pretty useful in the state.

And no I'm not an apple fan boy !

If you decide to keep it, I'll give you $50 to keep mine instead and let me return yours.

I bought this thing maybe 4 months ago on impulse; along with a case, screen protector and all the works. I honestly used it less than 5 times.

safe entertainment for taking a dump. it's harder to drop an ipad in the toilet.

I actually just got my ipad less than a week.
At first I was like you... man I have no use....
Now I use it everywhere even when I am next to my desktop! I could surf the web while the ipad is steaming something off netflix or pps..... or when I don't want to play any computer games but just some fun I go on my ipad...........
Battery life is good also I can take it work use it for a whole shift and still have battery left.

Yea the iPad turned out more useful than I expected. I like to store all my work PDFs on there and read ebooks.

And of course browse RS. It's also a decent casual gaming platform. Deadspace and Infinity blade 2 is awesome.

Another big bonus is checking email. Really nice to read email like a book.

Hardly. I have a high-end workstation plus a gaming rig at home and I still regularly use my iPad around the house. I keep my machines in my office and the iPad is on the table in the living room. If I want to check e-mail, read news or other social activities I'll pick up my iPad. Why would I want to get up (while watching a movie or the hockey game) and go to my office for some trivial tasks?

And no, I'm not putting my computers in my living room. I'm very picky about noise, and though my rigs are reasonably quiet they're still noticeable when running. And I like my office where it's quiet (and private) when I actually have work to do so I'm not distracted by working in the living room.

I also use my iPad in the morning before going to work checking e-mails and my schedule for the day. Easy way to get a jump on my day while eating breakfast. Far more convenient than going to my office to fire up a rig to spend a measly 5-10 minutes planning my day.
