Pea Coats

Who (store/designer) sells a nice slim fitting pea coat? I'm looking for something cut smaller and tighter similar to the one pictured here: Palus Pea Coat 1021570287 | Mens Asian Apparel

Calvin Klein or Kenneth Cole from Holt or The Bay

Burberry

To my knowledge, Burberry doesn't fit slim unless you're a slim Asian or you are model skinny.

Then again, I have very broad shoulders with a slim waist. Coats are never slim for me at the waist unless I get them altered.

depends how much you are willing to spend....h&m should have fairly slim fitting stuff... rw has some stuff too. zara for sure should have slim fit jackets.

I just picked up a Gloverall pea coat from Lark

I have been looking at Pea coats for some time and this was the finest one I came across. I'm fairly slim and this has a close to tailored fit for me.

I'm 180lb with broad shoulders slim waist and burberry is pretty much the only good looking peacoat on me. The others are too tight in the shoulders/chest and way too boxy in the waist.

I'm asian so I'm not that big but I have been told that I have broad shoulders. I wear a 38R suit jacket sometimes 40R but they never ever fit right. I have a 29 inch waist and I find coats/jackets/shirts are always way too roomy in the torso for me.

Thanks for the suggestions though. I'll look into the ones mentioned. Curious, how much is the burberry coat?

kazuki 12-29-2011 03:23 PM

~1000+

Its pretty expensive full price so I wait for sales online. Most online sites don't carry sizes smaller then 48 (what I wear). You might have to go to the burberry store for smaller sizes.

That being said I think they make the best looking jackets.

diesel

I'm a skinnier guy and I have 2. The only ones that seemed to fit the way I liked was G-Star and Zara.

If you're a skinnier guy or you're looking for a slim fit anything, try Zara. Prices are good too. My friend who wears size S or M jackets fit into an XL.

Uhhhh That's not possible, Zara isnt that undersized, maybe your friends has been lying about his size:haha:

If you want something slim, go to Zara, theyre stuff is awesome ^_^ My favourite store, and if yuo need to get it altered, go to the Levi's in metrotown and they have a tailor in the back who does his own thing and hes really good!

I also saw a few peacoats at The Bay (they were superydry ones), I would've gotten it but didn't want to fork 200+ for a coat.

Boysco and Holt are also good choices if you got the $$$

Another brand you might consider is Mackage. They're based out of Montreal and their jackets are very slim fit. Holt Renfrew carries them and they typically cost around ~$700 on average. Other brands you might consider aside from Burberry is Paul Smith or Dior. I know the latter few cost a bit but they're pretty good slim-fit wise.

edit: Moderately-priced brands that comes to mind are Diesel and G-star. Quality is so-so.
