Does ticket exist for having music too loud in car ?

yes.

Most municipalities have their own noise bylaws, not for how loud the music is inside the car, but for how much of it you can hear outside the car. If you're cranking it so people can hear it two blocks away, you'll probably get a ticket.

"Noise which tends to disturb or annoy" is one of the more common bylaws. $100 from 7am to 11pm, $500 from 11pm to 7am where I live.

Yes you can.

The white rock strip was notorious for this. You would drive along with your subs bumping only to have an officer steep out to casually pull you over for a noise violation ticket.

I went on a ride-along in Ottawa with a friend who is an officer. He had an awesome way of dealing with this. We pulled up at a red light beside a car bumping hip hop that didn't notice the fully marked cruiser beside them. He rolled down my window and honked to get their attention, and finally they noticed and turned down the music. He told them since he had to listen to their crappy music, they had to listen to his and proceeded to crank country music until the light turned green.

Some will say this didn't serve any purpose, yet I LOL'd and its definitely a better lesson than getting a ticket.

Also, what about the loud music IN your vehicle that does NOT allow you to be aware of your surroundings as mentioned in one post here? Would this not make a "distracted driving" violation eligible in this case? You would not hear emergency vehicles coming....

There's currently no ticket for driving with headphones on, so I doubt this would be ticketed.

Noise Pollution Laws

I believe you are allowed ONE ear bud in your ear while driving, NOT two. I will find the MVA section on this.....may take a bit of time lol
