Unprofessional behavior? I received a ticket on new years eve, i was very polite and compliant to the officer. The next morning a friend of mine(who works for TimHortons) had txt'd me laughing about how I received the ticket. I had not told anyone about it and she explained that an officer who knew she liked cars, had asked if she knew my car. He proceeded to tell her and her co-workers about the ticket he gave me the night before. Is he allowed to discuss this with someone other than someone in his line of work? |

are you trying to find a reason to dispute it? |
u mad bro? unprofessional, yes. but it's not going to get you anywhere. |
I've never heard of officer-driver confidentiality before.... |
mad about a ticket, not really. Mad that he was discussing it with a friend of mine, a little. Im simply curious if an officer is allowed to discuss my ticket with other people, hence the story and the question. |

I noticed in the newspaper and tv that the violator is often named. I assume that it fine for the police to do so as you have been officially charged. Similar to how more serious crimes the offender is named or the name is not released until charges against them have been made. Case point remember those kids with the exotic cars caught street racing? |
however, in that case, some were minors i believe. and minors can't have their name released to media unless it is a serious crime and they are tried as adults. |
Once a charge is laid the information becomes public record. Unless there is a reason to withold the name (to protect the victim) it is usually available from court records on line or by somebody sitting in the courtroom, unless there is a publication ban order made by the judge. |
So there you go kids, if you get a ticket for peeing in public, you can be scorned by name. |
