HIDs are a dangerous and useless modification that has become far to prevalent. Any offender caught with HIDs in reflector housings should receive an automatic box two VI.

Then add the driver of the truck with HIDs pointlessly tailgating you to the equation..

ill rephrase it.

Life is full of problems WE CANT FIX, so just learn to cope with them.

you like to resolve problems?? k then contact everyone in BC that has hids in reflector housings and get them to take it out.

I mean I can think of a couple cars that came from the factory with HID's in reflector housings (Escalade, new Forester, Acura CL's and older TL's... etc), should those people get VIs too?

I mean HID's in reflector housing will never be as good as projectors, that's almost a fact, although it can be done with minimal glare if the owner doesn't only put in the HID's and call it a day, but also modify the light shield until it's closest to the original cutoff.

People are given tickets for HIDs endlessly, they're ineffective and stepping up the consequences would change that.

When I say HIDs in reflector housings, I am referring to cars that came with halogen reflector housings stock, since those are the vehicles that cause issues.

If the public is vocal about the hazard created by illegally installed HIDs, enforcement will increase and curtail the problem.

I know I put up a picture really recently but I went on a scenic drive and walk with my gf today and I couldn't resist snapping a few photos with my BlackBerry camera and they turned out pretty decent. I've got one of the car and another of the trail. We were around Pitt Meadows

everyone needs to go thru the 6000K phase IMO .. I had projectors w/ 6000K's in the low beams and the fogs (projector fogs) and I thought I was hot shit lol ... 1 by 1 they all burnt out. Now if I ever go back to HIDs it will be 3000-4000K and not a shitty ebay brand.

^Sorry, no. Putting blinding HIDs into headlights that weren't designed for them is not some phase in everybody's life that they go through, like puberty.

I'm seeing a real lack of courtesy in this generation and the next. Call it NIMBYism or whatever, but there's a whole lot of looking the other way, instead of calling somebody on it when they're clearly being douches. HIDs in headlights, not saying it's an epidemic like AIDS/cancer, is nonetheless an irritating and dangerous part of driving. Don't be an asshole, show some regard and courtesy to other drivers. I realize asking selfish people to think about someone other than themselves is very hard for them to fathom, so please get your wise uncle, church deacon, parole officer, etc to explain it to you in terms you can understand.

And for FFS, in the future, don't ever come onto RS or any other public forum and cry that a cop gave you a ticket/VI because of it. No, you deserve it.

I put ricey colors into projectors :okay: I never blinded anyone nor did I have glare, I had a nice cut off :alonehappy:

Headlights were bought pre-retroed on another forum by a guy who got rear ended and totalled his car .. Don't know the specifics but I know they were more than adequate to handle HID's

My car was bought at Don Docksteader.
Since I live closer to Richmond Subaru I thought I would do my first service there.
I am now definitly re-thinking my choice...
