Such a good deal, we ended up wasting 1 tix @ both games too cause my exgf and I broke up right before the trip and she didn't end up coming So overall kind of a bitter sweet trip........ Posted via RS Mobile |
waiting in denver for connector flight to seattle. So sad to leave florida, at least the weather wasnt as nice as last few days, makes leaving a bit easier. I got some good warmup and game pics, will get those up when I'm home. Krazynuck, we were on the other side of the canucks tunnel based on ur pics. The atmosphere in tampa was better than sunrise for sure, made the lightning game more fun than the panther game. We sat across the opposition bench both games row 5 lower bowl top of the faceoff circle, 40 bucks for panthers and 75 for lightning all fees and conversion included! Basically our flights were paid for if we were to get the same seats in vancouver. Posted via RS Mobile |

It's really cool to see some RS-ers going on a trip to watch Canucks games and sharing their experiences back here. Kudos to you guys being on enemy territory and supporting those nucks! One day I'll join you guys :woot2: |
Thanks for the comments everyone! Our whirlwind roadtrip is coming to an end soon with a last stop in St. Louis. The people that we have met in Boston, Miami, and Tampa have been amazing and very hospitable. Once krazynuck and I get back home with a proper internet connection we'll post up all the other touristy locations that we managed to cram in along with our game day updates. Posted via RS Mobile |
Better hit up some BBQ joints there alex Posted via RS Mobile |
Well looks like we lost some posts from the other night but I will finish off the thread. Jan 10 - Day 5 A quick flight to Tampa got us in a few hours before the game and the hotel 2 blocks away. Tampa in our opinions was way nicer than where we stayed for the Panthers game. Tickets http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...70132504_n.jpg Stadium http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...44831885_n.jpg Pregame http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...00851996_n.jpg http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...78953913_n.jpg http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...51875472_n.jpg Revscene meet (E-40six/Krazynuck/Skiipi) http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...26486860_n.jpg Before Puck Dropped http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...45545590_n.jpg Stanley Cup Banner (sooooo jelly) http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...93036429_n.jpg Anthem (I'm posting this pic because I really liked what I saw. . .in Tampa they move around a large flag while singing the anthem, the guy ahead of us at his first hockey game every was just back from a tour and while singing the anthem he saluted the flag. . .so had to respect that. It is amazing to see the standing ovations these guys get when announced at a game) http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...46874848_n.jpg View from the Seats http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...70216550_n.jpg Krazynuck and E-40six http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...06448867_n.jpg Final Score 5-4 OT win for us :tickets: http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...07907220_n.jpg We had to get a pic with the ice girls in our nucks jerseys :megastar: http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...42477315_n.jpg Jan 11 - Day 6 Sightseeing day of sorts... We decided to find some diner drive ins and dives locations for lunch and dinner. For lunch we went to a dinner in the middle of no where (This episode aired the same time as one of the Vancouver stops) The food was amazing and the owners were even better! They had never had anyone from Vancouver or even BC for that matter and were amazed by our trip...we signed their book of visitors and left after a great meal. http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...43791174_n.jpg http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...77355239_n.jpg For dinner we went to another on triple D, that was more a brewery so for that I'll post their beer sampler. 44oz ( 11 flavors of 4oz drinks for $14 which was not bad) http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...01043583_n.jpg http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...92862432_n.jpg Overall we liked Tampa way more than Sunrise. . .Tampa fans were more into the game and the stadium was a lot more full than there sister team in the South. We meet the same people as we had at the Panthers game and met some new people at the same time. One of our favourites was a former local who moved to Orlando, he had come to the game with his wife and kids and mother in law. He said the Canucks were what he and his wife bonded over as before they were bitter rivals as one had gone to SFU and the other UBC. The best part was his kids. . .he had given his son the opportunity to pick the team he wanted to follow...to his fathers disappointment he picked the lighting...so when had his daughter he said she has not and will not be given the option to pick...we laughed at this as these are the types of fans we all are...people willing to raise kids as only one type of fan and have as many as it takes to get it right! Overall a great time in Tampa, the only regret is that we missed where the Canucks were staying...found out it was the hotel a block away from us...would have been nice to get some pics. |
Jan 12 - Day 7 Final game of the four game road trip was tonight in St.Louis...First off we went from 25 degree hot sunny weather to -11 degree cold and snowy weather!!! We were right beside the stadium though so that helped. First we want to thank the RS members (who's posts are now deleted though) for the heads up, by the time we had read your posts though me and E-40six already had walked up hill in the wind and snow for 20 mins to find a FedEx kinkos!!! Well worth it now though. Incase you did not see E-40six won with his sign http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...25320579_n.jpg The blues have a great fan base and a nice stadium (no Rogers arena though) The guys we sat next to were once again amazed we travelled this far to watch our team play. I couldn't have a made a better post explaining the hockey portion of our whole trip better than what Krazynuck did. He chose the best pictures out of our collection and explained our story perfectly. I'll just post the ones that he might have missed out on. As you all know, our whole trip started off in Boston. The only touristy thing I wanted to do while I was in Boston was to catch a Celtics game and tour Fenway park which ya'll have seen pictures of in the OP. One of the things I wanted to do on this trip was to try to get a picture with Dan Murply aka Sportsnet Murph in every city *disclaimer, sorry for the blurry pictures and me looking like a tool at times :ilied:* We started off with a general 3 thumbs up with Dan Murphy in Boston https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...56355847_n.jpg. After the Boston leg of our journey we flew to Washington D.C. for a stopover before heading to Ft. Lauderdale. We were able to get some sight seeing before we got off the plane haha https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...20868856_n.jpg We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale on the Sunday after the boston game and had to think of things to do before the game started on Monday night. Krazynuck decided that renting a car would be the best thing to do since Ft. Lauderdale/Plantation Florida is equivalent to our Langley. HOLLERRRR we got a civic! https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...01673614_n.jpg so with our pimp ride the first thing that came to mind was we're in florida, we have to see some gators. So krazynuck and me navigator'd our asses to the middle of nowhere to look at some alligators and to EAT them. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...41662121_n.jpg Oh lookie, we didnt go to a farm to look at alligators, we got to go out into the everglades in a fan boat https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...06299501_n.jpg Our fan boat tour wasn't a disappoint as we got to see a couple wild alligators and a turtle missing its ninja capabilities. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...04972284_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...06989412_n.jpg part of the tour was that we got to hold a baby alligator https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...37223649_n.jpg After our tour we decided to try the swamp sampler at the safari restuarant. It consisted of Alligator Bites, Cat Fish, Frog Legs, and Fries. With it being so sunny, and us coming from a winter environment Krazynuck lost on the vote and we sat outside to enjoy the sun. Krazynuck being white and in winter mode, burnt very easily so he was not pleased. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...28026833_n.jpg Alligator was delicious, everyone has to try it once! https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...08117762_n.jpg After our gator tour, we decided we had to go to Miami beach to see what it's all about https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...53270029_n.jpg The city itself wasn't really special, it was crowded with tourist and the buildings looked really run down on the main strip. but the beach itself was amazing https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...33824122_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...33519084_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...47773509_n.jpg At the game, Dan Murphy recognized Krazynuck and I and we got the second picture with him at the Panthers game https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...74783373_n.jpg Now onto Tampa Bay, there really wasnt much touristy places we went to there as our stay was very short. But we managed to go to a Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives location called Danny's All American Diner. The Owner Danny, and his wife were super hospitable, they kept us company the whole time we were there waiting for our food, and when the food came they let us eat and after we were done, came and chatted with us some more. The food was really delicious and cheap! https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...43791174_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...36292369_n.jpg That was pretty much about it for Tampa bay with us. while at the pre game skate, we managed to get another shot with Dan Murphy, he seemed to be getting comfortable with us. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...66385946_n.jpg Off to St. Louis were we were greeted with -10 degree weather. Its a different kind of cold in that city for sure. Beatdownvictim suggested that we try out some of their BBQ there so we asked the locals which would be the best. We were told Pappy's Smokehouse was the place to go, but we had to go early otherwise they would sell out. So at 10:45am we arrived at Pappy's after a short 5 minute taxi ride from where we were staying. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...54008809_n.jpg They smoke their meat outside in a cooking trailer https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...94567185_n.jpg Good thing we listened to the locals, because by 11:30am the line up was out the door and we would not have been able to get a seat inside the diner. Nothing beats eating ribs at 11:00am in the morning for lunch https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...03490655_n.jpg After lunch, we decided to burn off the calories by walking to the St. Louis arch was approximately 2.5 miles from where we were. The walk took us about an hour in -5 degree cold. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...68403911_n.jpg Once we got to the arch, we had to take the tour all the way up cause you just had to after the long ass walk haha https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...35605470_n.jpg The view from inside the arch https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...00399092_n.jpg Annnd here is the lost shot with Dan Murphy, notice no glass separating us now HAHAHAHA https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...85820120_n.jpg Our last day in St. louis was a picture infront of the scottrade center because we forgot to take one on game day cause we rushed to the stadium with our award winning signs in our hand https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...72539956_n.jpg Thanks for reading!!! |
Awesome read guys, thanks for sharing. Great pictures and nice touch with Dan Murphy lol. |
the tampa bay ice girls :fappery: |
THE MURPH! |
LoL... pictures with Dan Murphy at every arena... that's pretty cool. |

First pic Murph was far away but once he learned E-40six was not that much of a creeper he got closer and closer |

I also did some calculations last night and found out that we flew a total of 12,100km in a span of 10 days |
